I should have submitted this ages ago.

Here be concept sketches of various expressions that I did of Lyssa17, the character I created for 's manga, The Street Chick Project.
Well, they would have been sketches except that I took fourty million years to draw them.

I have numbered them so I can add brief descriptions:

1. This is a fairly generic Lyssa expression aside from her normal ;DDDDDDD one, eyebrow raised and a half-smirk. Confident, laid-back, slightly cocky.

2. This is my personal favorite, but for some reason everybody else hates it. She's being kind of cheeky, almost flirty in a smart-alecky way.

3. This one sucks and I didn't bother to fix it up. She's looking awestruck or amazed at something; her pupils are dilated because that's what happens to cats when they're surprised, affectionate or in fear.

4. She's struck gold, or she's come up with an evil plot. Inspired by Luffy.

5. Shock. It was supposed to look like horrified shock as opposed to surprise shock, but I didn't get the intended effect.

6. Crying, obviously. She's bowed her head and screwed up her face because she's trying to keep her tears under control.

7. Not an expression you'll see often - a tender, gentler side that she rarely shows.

8. All pumped up, with flames in her eyes and everything. I didn't put much effort into this one. Haha, the irony.

9. Serious and resolute, possibly in battle mode. I should have pronounced the frown more to give her a more firm stare.

10. Just being all chirpy and curious, popping over a wall to say hello to someone or to see what's going on.

11. Completely desolate, her eyes are masked. Like number 7, this is uncharacteristic of her, so it's seldom seen.

12. She's angry.

13. Dopey grin. She's usually wearing one.

14. Another pissed-off expression, but a more comical one.

15. Henohenomoheji; it's a common SD expression found in manga. I can't explain exactly what it's supposed to mean, it's just kind of blank.

16. Wincing, probably at someone who fell over or hurt themselves. Thanks to for helping me draw this. xDD

17. Struck dumb.

Aaand, there's a few half-baked faces that I didn't bother finishing. And a certain someone drew a trademark face down the bottom. It is not Lyssa.
