More 3D 'doodling' - a few add-on parts that kind of mash up the DART with both Sky 1 and the Interceptors from the classic Gerry Anderson sci-fi series UFO.

The new nose was something of an expedient solution - I was having a tough time creating a transition that I liked, from the DART's girth to a round mount for the missile, so I decided to go for more of an 'intake' shape like the nose of Sky 1, and then I could put the mount inside. Once I had the new nose and armament installed, I remembered that the Interceptors in UFO always had one major flaw: each shot its lone missile and was then both defenseless and offenseless, so I extended the UFO design metaphor to the wing-mounted gun pods, giving it much more back-up firepower.

On a totally different note, this vehicle has always quite intentionally carried a name - DART - from a historic (and now offered again) Chrysler Corporation vehicle (in fact, the very first renders of it carried the ChryslerAerospace name on them ...). With all the firepower added, I felt it needed a more aggressive moniker, and Lancer, another Chrysler classic, seemed an appropriate choice. (Man, what'll the Fury look like?? )
