Hugo is a privateer, which in the Otherworlds means he hunts pirates and other criminals for a living. Tyrian describes him as 'a wall of over-armed muscle' at one point, so the chances of anyone else's dad being able to beat him up are verrry slim X3Β Unless they are another privateer or similar, of course.

Hugo's introduction, in which he is sort of nice to Joshua:
Once on the ship, the boat having been hauled back up, Joshua stood before his rescuers still cuddling the cat, which he was amazed didn't seem to mind.
βSo.β The owner of the gruff voice turned out to belong to a stocky man with reddish-brown eyes and long, silver hair, tied in a ponytail. He wore a dark purple jacket and matching trousers, a white silken neckerchief and white gloves. Even if he hadn't heard the others say it, he had 'Captain' written all over him. He looked Joshua up and down. βI heard you tell Marcus here you fell through a door. Is that right?β
βYes sir,β Joshua replied, mumbling into the cat's fur.
βI'm afraid what he told you was true,β the man continued, βthemΒ

The burn is strong with this one! Also, if the success of Cloudsley adopting Hugo is anything to go by, Angela here will be even more ace

The favourite is very much for the serious point underlying the strip.
I'm "natural born" to my parents, but my younger uncle's wife was sterile, so they had to adopt. This makes no difference to how the rest of the family treats their kids.
