I primed them black. For the white part I used Dheneb Stone from the GW Foundation range. Think Rakarth Flesh is the current substitute since their overhaul of the paintrange. And after that do a 50/50 mixture of pure white with the foundation to do the surfaces.

The edges? Or do you mean the rims? The blue part?

Think what's mostly the problem is don't sanding the textured plastic on top.

There is no such thing as "too much color"

Might look into them though, don't think I'll reshoot the squad though... probably only when I'll do a full army shot.
