I too hate this ship (& every other Discord ship) but not really because of the age difference (although it doesn't help much).
aside from being vastly overrated & that God-awful fanfic (you know the one I mean), they're too different & definitely not suitable for each other.
with that being said, while I don't really care much for Discord, the 2 are far better off as just friends.

Actually I donβt really read fanfics but I see where youβre getting at besides spike is the one people should ship fluttershy with because it technically is canon because the writers even confirmed that fluttershy was originally going to be spikes crush instead of rarity which a lot more since because what was the first thing fluttershy did when she first saw him? Thatβs right she just ran right up to him admiring how adorable he is I mean seriously it was such a cute way for them to meet. Screw fluttercord. Flutterspike for life.

Itβs just comparing it to pedophilia really bothers me because.. it kind of undermines pedophilia in a way.
