Description Painting and Drawing with a Mouse: Part 2

Part 1 is here: [link]

My first tutorial, please don’t laugh.

This may be the only thing I can offer the art world. It’s the only thing I’ve learned on my own. Everything else I learned from books and other tutorials.

If anyone finds this helpful I would love to know about it. If not, I hope you at least got a kick out of seeing how I work.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I’ll try my best to answer.

PS: I’ve read through this a few times already but I keep finding grammar and spelling errors. I think I got them all out; but if not I’m sorry.

Tools: Photoshop elements 5.0 and mouse
Time: Three days to write it all up, make the images and put it altogether.

What did you mean by "But no matter what, your base colors need to go under the drawing"? Because you just said that you can color under or over the lines of the drawing.

I saw a drawing on youtube that was done with a mouse and an older version of PSE and I was completely blown away. It was more beautiful than anything I have seen thus far on any "speed painting" on YT...now I'm sitting here wondering why I clicked on this tutorial looking for tips on how to draw with a mouse? haha You told me exactly what I needed to know and already knew -I just needed guidance on taking the first step I guess. time to draw!

Time to draw!

You wouldn't happen to still have the link to that speed painting would you? I'd like to watch it if you do.

This gave me some very helpful ideas for making my sketching stages more efficient

Other tools I've found useful for mouse colouring are watercolour and smudge in GIMP. Not sure what the equivalent in elements would be, but they're definitely interesting to play with.

Elements has a smudge tool, but I haven't used it in few years. I was over using it when I did. I think there is also a brush that works like watercolour too, but I don't play with because I'm not into the watercolor look. They are pretty cool though.

And I'm glad it could help!

I fear failing and being made fun of for it. Or flamed. So I felt the need to say that. But I'm better now. And thank you!
