My sister said that too, but I was so tired of shading those things xDDD (I used like 7 layers of shading on the buildings in the first pannel alone)

and if you look closely, I hid my username in the picture in two places ;D

Wow, thats A LOT of layers, you really shouldn't need that many. I have found that in Photoshop I often had many layers that could have easily been only one or two. And I have a bad habit of not naming my layers so I often got confused, lol.

Adding details like that can be tedious, but it really pays off in the long run. You can also use brushes and patterns to make you work easier for you when dealing with repetitive imagery. (But remember, make your own brushes!)

I didnt actually make new layers for each thing, I used the dodge and burn tool and shaded the intire thing once going back over it twice that I smudged into the main structure, and counted that as one layer, I did that two more times, before going over them again with the spraycan twice.

so adding windows would have been very dificult seing how I did most of my shading on the main color of the blocks of the buildings, but I made up for it I think with the last minuite decision of putting reflcections of the first scene in the glass window and door of the last pannel.

and yes, most of the time I hide two of my signature in my images, the first one is usually very easy to find, the second one.. not always ;D

You could have added windows on a layer above the buildings, then adjusted the opacity/contrast ect. until it looked good. Just a suggestion.

Also, I wouldn't rely too much on the smudge and dodge tools. They are nice shortcuts, but overuse can hurt your art in the long art. That's the general consensus anyway.

Oh and random, but i actually did a Thunderpaw sketch back in my art block, if you want i could color it for ya. XD

yes, I agree. I'm just lazy and wanted the main foucus on that pannel to be the sun, and the light and shadows x3

I know, I try hard not to, but I was an MS paint artist for so long, and I only descovered the dodge/burn last year xD so I'm a bit obsessed with them

REALLY? 8D that makes me so happy! thunderpaw is like my favorite OC right up there with Phoenix, I'd love to see him

Ugh MS paint never did use it much. Actually my main piece of advice for you is to try to do more natural blending and not use the smudge tool so much. But keep it up, the comics great so far!

And i'll let you know when i'm done coloring him.

that means a lot, since I reffed most of my comic layout from yours XDD;

It didn't take as long as it looks, but it was a pain in the rear to do x3

(the buildings in the second pannel are lazyyyyyyyy |D )

but the potted plant was fun
