"Impress me, worm." the skinner spoke before falling silent upon her perch, glaring down at the next kit to approach her.
Shellkit sat quietly at the base of the rock, her wide eyes looking right up at the intimidating she-cat, the cheif espeon. The little kit had attempted to ponder about what to do to impress the skinner before it was her turn, but she had not come up with anything particularly outstanding in her mind. She also remembered her previous experience with Def and his challenge, and thought that perhaps coming into the challenge previously perpared was not the way to go about these sorts of things. her gaze flicked behind her at the collection of cats waiting for her to do something, irritation flicked at the back of her throat and chest as she took another minute to outwardly ponder what to do. then, she had an idea.
"How?"
The question was simple. How could she impress her? Walking into a situation thinking you have the means to do something impressive only matters if you know what the other cat wants from you, as she learned from Def's challenge. So why not just... ask?

"You have nothing prepared?" The Skinner asked, sounding annoyed. "Are you here to take my challenge and show me what you're made of, or are you here to insult me like Beankit?"

"No." Shellkit said simply. "I'm here to ask how to impress you." She clarifies, lifting her chin. She falls silent, watching Skinner's reaction and wondering if she should wait and see what she says to her simple explanation, but decides to clarify even further.. just in case.
"I think it's a weird challenge, to have me n' the other kits come up and try to do tricks an' stuff without any.. um, guidelines? The rest of the challenges have something of what you're SUPPOSED to do, but for this one? You leaf'ded it up to us. So I thought, I'm just a kit, I'm just.. me. There's nothing that I can do that the other kits can't do, at least for now." She tilts her head. "I don't know a whole lot about the world an' I also don't know anything about what you might think is impressive. SO I thought, that one thing most the other kits might not do, is ask you what you want to see."

"It's a challenge of self-value," the Skinner said. "Clearly you don't think there's anything about you that makes you unique or talented, so why would I waste my time on you?"

"Maybe not yet but that's why we're here and doin' all these challenges, innit?? I keep thinkin' I'm great just to turn around an' watch how every other cat tells me I shouldn't be that way, so when I change my mind and try to do something a bit more um... not, that way? then I get the opposite! I know I have potential, but I'm young and worthless right now, all the kits are."

"Well you should stick to something. Everyone is always going to look for different things, but as long as you're consistent you'll end up impressing someone. If you keep drastically changing how you present yourself in response to what the last person said, you're always going to fall short and feel like you have absolutely no identity and no certainty in your life."

Shellkit nods. "That's a good idea. I just want to be me."

"If that had been good enough earlier, perhaps you would have prepared something to show me."

"I still think asking you what you want to see is a good idea. I want to know how to impress you."

"I don't have time to come up with personalized tasks for everyone. To be honest, there's nothing you could do at this point to impress me, unless you can think up something clever on your own and I don't have to keep dragging everyone's dead weight and giving them 'more specifics' for their very clearly-instructed challenges. I'm already so utterly underwhelmed."

"I don't need atask from you," Shellkit pauses and scrunches up her nose to think. "I just thought asking you what you wanted to see was more productive than trying to waste your time with somethin' like showing you my power or talking about how I think I'm worth somethin' when I'm just a kitten right now who doesn't know a whole lot about a whole lot."

"Do I have to keep repeating myself? I wanted to see was some ingenuity, self-motivation, and pride in a skill. I don't know what it's going to take to get it through your dense round skull: I wanted you to impress me with a task of your own design and your own making. Do you understand, or will you ask me yet again what will impress me, and continue to remind me that you thought it was a good idea to expect to be given the answer rather than take a bit of risk and show some ingenuity."

"Jeeze okay. You don't havta get all hoity-toity." she waves her paw in a circle. "If you want a risk, then I'll give you one." She gets to her paws and turns around to lead The Skinner elsewhere. "Follow me!"
As she's walking and without looking, she tries to activate the only power she knows, Idiocy targeting the Skinner. Her goal is to see if she can cast it while her target is not in her line of sight, and moving away from her.

Knowing where the Skinner is, you can cast Idiocy on her. She pauses for a moment, scowling faintly, not liking the grip of idiocy that overtakes her, but continues to follow, each step a little more careful than the last.

Shellkit is satisfied internally with her little trick, making Skinner feel stupid for doubting her, she likes to cast her power like this. on anyone or anything that makes her mad or doesn't think she's got the right idea about something. The little kit toddles forward confidently, leading Skinner all the way to the little hollow tree that she keeps her collection of seashells in.
"Here." She says, sitting down next to it and turning to face the Skinner finally. "This is all the seahshells that I've found in haven so far." She gives the skinner ample time to look them over herself before she jumps up into the hole in the tree and starts pointing out individual shells and explaining them. "This one is the first one I found. I liked the way it has these weird pokey things. And then I found these other ones arount the same area the next few days. They all kinda look the same. So then I wanted to see if I could find ones that look different in other places, like this one I found under the water in the lake. It looks really weird, I thought it was a rock at first, but if you flip it over like this it looks all pretty. this one here is all covered in moss because it was under a rock near the forest near a little stream. I collect these because they're named after me."
deep down she doesn't expect the skinner to be impressed with this little collection of hers, but her only other idea was to uselessly lead her around haven and end up back where they started and laugh at her for following a kit around for no reason and she was worried that'd just make her more mad.

The Skinner looked over the collection, unimpressed. "At least you had something to show when you didn't prepare," she said, turning away. "Here's your score."

shellkit snubs her nose and watches as the skinner walks off, she activates idiocy targeting skinner one more time just for good measure, even though she doesn't have the auma to cast it more than once.

The Skinner gives no indication that she's noticed as she leaves the area, and as Shellkit topples over from Spiritual Fatigue.
