Description
One of a series of redesigns I have done of the characters from the original 80’s Gobots TV show, in the style of Transformers Animated.For Leader-1 the main thing was to add more colour cos the original looked kinda drab. Also wanted that heroic stars and stripes look to make him more like a heroic leader. Was inspired by Captain America. Comments welcome!

One thing that most fans forget about the GoBots (in the TV series at least), is that the GoBots were not 100% robotic like the Transformers. The GoBots had biological brains, inside a mechanical body. That made them Cyborgs.

Persona, It's really amazing how few people know things like that; you and I saw the episode where those Aliens scanned the Gobotronian's heads and saw the organic matter upstairs (that shocked the hell out of me too when I first saw it!)

I enjoy both Go-Bots and Transformers. To quote a tagline from another franchise, "there is no comparison".

awesome work there. He always was kind of drab and uninspiring in the original series. Didn't have that iconic/memorable look that Optimus (or even Leader-1's opponent, Cy-kill) had.
You've accomplished that in spades my friend. He looks like leadership material, and not to mention friggin' awesome.

Well, the stars and stripes thing actually works so-so, coz it kinda alings the character with the US, which just doesn't feel right (skipping the fact Japan would be just as good of a choice)... and not just because I'm not an American. Well, what's done is done...
The above aside I do like the design. The face could be better, but than again I disliked Optimus Prime in Animated also... so maybe it's just something all leaders of the good guys have to face in Animated style series?
And I see the hammer... a bit of a rip-off, but from all the weapons I suppose hammer works best for Leader-1.

I like it a lot. The white and blue coloring stays true to the original Leader-1. Also it has that more fun style that the GoBots had over Transformers which was more serious. The stripes and stars do give him a very sleek yet cool look. My only thing is that Leader-1 looks a bit too much like Sentinel Prime. Maybe if you just changed the head to be more like the original.

i just updated the head a bit i wasn't really thinking about Sentinel Prime when i did it but i guess the wings on the head are similar, still i agree that he's cooler than the original!
