The Sniper's equipment in Doomsday Fortress was inspired by Eli's in the movie: The Book of Eli

The only weapons he managed to to gather up was his Uncle's 1890 Hunting Rifle mounted with a scope, tribalman's shiv and a long bow

Of course he still piss in jars, but in someway, maybe because of the radiation, or just insanity that he can identify his own scent with his piss, like, for example, making a landmark, just in case he gets lost and such. In a journey or two, someone would call him "Canine"

When the contract was finished he decided to visit his parents, he wasn't ready when he came back to his home town, he didn't go to his parents' house yet until the Doomsday occurred, the chaos gradually aroused, street blocks, riots, he drove with caution going to his parent's place when a group of people caught his van in a stop, they tipped it over, Sniper fought but they were too many, all his belongings raided and taken by people who was once civilized. He walked miles to get to his parents, and sadly, they weren't there, he just hoped they're not dead. He searched for equipment, anything that can act as a substitute for the things he lost. He found the Hunting Rifle that was mounted on the living room, it was once his uncle's, and was the reason he got into guns.

After investigating the place, looking for a sign that might give a clue to where his parents are, and gathering supplies while at it. He found none, he pondered too long before he decided to leave and look for them himself. Yet somewhere in the perimeter, a few feet underground, an old couple tried to feel at home in their bunker, the woman sat up and felt something, she spoke "Dear, I think our son was here..."
