SAFARI DAY!
As you know Safari Park is a place where Pokemon live peacefully. The project is to make these Pocket Monsters look more realistic, with a bestial appearance. I added a Monster Hunter-like icon, because this is typically what I would add in the monster description!
---------------------------------------------------
Gengar, another Arvalis subspecies! This one was my favorite so far, so I also made another traditional work of Arvalis' stuff . This series isn't meant to draw every character whoever already did, but it helps me to understand how to draw realistic related beasts. Weird, huh? x)
Oh and a 1000 points bonus if you guess what the icon means!
Made with my beloved pencil on a A5 Moleskine.

MORE SAFARI!

I honestly have to admit... I did not realize that it was even meant to be Gengar without the 3D sprite and your description - I genuinely thought that it was Swoobat.
For me... it just doesn't capture Gengar at all and gives it a bunch of features that are not prevalent in it's overall design - I think you've taken this one too far away from the Pokémon it comes from.
However, considering the actual artwork on its own, you've done another fantastic job - your tonal values and attention to detail are as amazing here as in your others and it is very hard not to find something to like in this image.

Well, I couldn't agree more
This one is far from the original design, but I did not create it, I just redrew it from the original Arvalis' version I found it interesting because of its total "reboot" and I think it is great to capture another portrait of what a Pokemon could look like in real life
Thanks a lot!!

Hmm... I'd never really thought about it that way... recapturing the image and design of a Pokémon in a totally different way, making it more congruent I guess with the biological laws of our own world...
Also, much love for the accidental pun you made ~ "it is great to capture another portrait of what a Pokémon could look like"

(sorry it took me a little while to return the comment, but here ya go~)
Love the sketch, it looks like something you might find in a children book. If that book was about monsters at least Love the detail too.
