Description
Done this as a birthday presen for the 30th birthday of a friend.Lich Lord Asphyxious and his legion, original size is A3 (297 × 420 mm), technique is ballpoint pen for Asphyxious, pencil for the rest.
It's fan art for Privateer Press' tabletop game "Warmachine" and shows a Warcaster and several other models from the faction Cryx.

It looks great and I think the only being that could look upon this scene and go "meh.." would be Daemortus, as he is now. Even in victory and nigh-unlimited power, Asphyxious will never be able to live up to his old master's standards.

I love this. It has a very oldschool-Games-Workshop vibe to it, from back in the days when their art was crowded and oddball rather than tedious and monolithic. Can't remember the specific artist it reminds me of... it was someone who constructed their paintings like John Blanche, but could actually produce consistently proportioned anatomies and the like. Dave someoneorother, I think.

It's hard to tell how long it took me... there were a few things, which were pretty annoying to draw (the PENCIL Bane Thrall in front of the PEN Asphyxious and the PENCIL Soulhunter being the most annoying, I always had to think about which was in the front and which was behind), which resulted in maaaaany very short drawing "sessions", not a a few long ones.
Ah well, long story short: I estimate about 9 - 10 hours.

Something similar to this one with a Cygnar force, facing the opposite way like a stand off. Possibly even with my own caster and jack.
