Most voted was King Caesar, which is convenient because I kinda wanted to draw him next anyway XDDespite being the hardest to draw so far, I'm pretty proud of it. I even dare say it's one of the best-drawn King Caesar's here on deviantART.. yes, I am BOLD.
Yeah despite doing my own interpretations of each monster, I just had to keep the ears. XD
What I always loved about Caesar was his shisa/foo dog face. Those are among my favorite mythic beasts. Still kinda wish KC was more foo than he is right now..

I'm not saying that you traced it. But an alternate way of keeping KC's design traditional is through tracing the original concept... Which isn't a good idea at all.

Nice job on an underrated kaiju. I love how he crouches in that pic, like a tradition shisa would, and I love how he looks like a threat instead of a parody of itself like in the movies it starred in. I also love the idea of it being quadrapedal, at least partially, compared to an upright kaiju.
All around, great job.

I was seven the first time I saw that movie and when Seesha ears stood up I squealed, from both delight and a little fear. I don't think anyone expected his ears to do that the first time they watched that film.

KC's look seems only appealing to those who grew up with him. I wonder how a more conventional look would be, something closer to the roots of the creature and not like what Toho or even MF came up with.

Love how you denied him of thumbs, and he looks even more statue-like then he originally did. (Something redesigners never like to put emphasis on for whatever reason, but it's that discovery that gave KC more originality and depth, IMO and put him higher as one of my favorites).

KC is an oddball because he's supposed to feature both statuesque and mammalian features, from the brickscale hide to the fur...

Oddballs make the best and most memorable kaiju. Particularly those of the 70s.
My vote is for Gigan next. Bring back the Pot-belly!

This version actually looks better than 's version. Ah, I remeber when he and Godzilla teamed up in Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. Fanastic work!

I think what I like most about this design is that you didn't try to totally rework his body frame. It looks agile and somewhat graceful, but still has the solid, upright humanoid posture of the Seesar I grew up with.
Too many designs of him go out of their way to look like lions, or dogs, or naked men crawling on all fours while wearing Halloween masks....
I like how the Shisa influence is distinctly there, but it still appears as the humanoid warrior-golem that he was originally.

Wow, this is just grand! One of the few really cool drawings of King Caesar. I would've said that it was the best, but 's G-Neo Caesar is just too cool.

Matt's Neo Ceasar is one of the few redesigns he's done that I really don't like. I think the face needs to remain very Shisa-looking and he did not attempt to keep to the Asian statue appearance for it.
