Description
This is a diorama I made. I painted a real quick background for it in Gimp just to set the scene and I used a feather brush I DLed from somewhere on here for the trees. I sculpted all the snow drifts and grey rocks from scratch, as well as parts of the stump. The scratch built stump piece comes off to reveal the power switch/battery pack for the blue LEDs that are inside some of the icicles and covers part of the wires too. I resculpted part of the jawline so that the mouth would be closed in a snarl- the original model has an open mouth. I painted it by hand using only traditional brushes- no airbrush. I assure you this thing looks much nicer in person, much of the detail is lost in the photos. You can find more photos on our Facebook- www.facebook.com/HorrorCustomsRelated content

I don't even know how many hours I put into that thing- it had to be close to 100, start to finish.

I'd love to see this without the background, which I think detracts from appreciating the model painting.

Ah, the Mark Newman porcelain kit all painted and modified, awesome! I haven't had the courage to put mine together and it weighs a ton!

Yes! It's one of my favorite model kits ever and definitely one of the best werewolves out there IMO. It is heavy- mines SUPER heavy now because of all the Aves on there lol, eventhough I bulked out some of the bigger spots with foam first. It was a bit of a challenge to make the tree base look less jungle and more tundra-like because of all the vines but I really wanted to go a different way with mine. If you ever get around to doing yours, pop me a link, I'd love to see what you do with it! Thanks for commenting

There is another one, from Alternative Images and sculptor Raven Young. Its resin, quite large and accurately proportioned. The box says 1995 SKAI Designs. I guess I ought to put SOMETHING on my page since its rather bare at the moment. I have one that was made to look as if the eye were removed with orbit underneath and I re sculpted the eye and airbrushed it. Its a garage kit but it turned out pretty good.

Sounds cool, I'd like to see it! I've actually got a few nice werewolves in the to-be-done pile. I bought a big one from unpainted, I found "The Lycan" at a model convention 2 weeks ago, and I also picked up A William from Underworld there. I'm also working on 2 custom action figure werewolves that I am sculpting. So I have quite a few to do.

The paint on the wolf really is amazing, as is the scenery. Way to go!

The pose, I think, is what really sells this one; it radiates power and ferocity. The expression is great, too, with the lips peeled back and fangs bared. This creature looks every bit the lord of its domain, and might I say that the fact that you painted and sculpted it all by hand is damned impressive. My salutations to you on a piece VERY well done!

I didn't sculpt the werewolf itself, that part is a model which I put together and painted. I did however sculpt part of the jaw so that it's mouth would be more closed and I sculpted most of the scenery (part of the stump, the rocks, snow drifts etc.) Thank you very much though, I appreciate your feedback
