I have wanted to make a very accurate painting of Rarity for sometime. After getting my supplies and finding some time to actually sit down and get it done, this is the final result.Related content

My techniques have refined a great deal over the past months of working on paintings, but this should be a good start.
I will be making a new tutorial in two weeks or so that will have a bunch of new videos and steps on how to make stencil art ponies.

I like to ask other stencil artists the same thing. Getting others perspective helps a bunch.
I like to use inkjet transparencies. It make lining up small details very easy, though more expensive per sheet.
I make my designs in Photoshop, print them out, and cut each with an xacto knife.

What supplies? How did you get such a neat gradient in the hair? Brushes? How long have you been painting?

I paint with acrylic spray paint and stencils. Gradient is just layers of painting with light misting to get the desired fade pattern.
I started painting in May 2011 and sort of went nuts with it during the summer and fall. I have since slowed down a bunch due to getting busy with deadlines at work and other activities. I will be trying to paint more pretty soon.

I haven't even seen a single MLP FiM episode, but for the pictures and screenshots I've seen, I can tell that you put a whole lot of time and effort into this, because it's completelly filled with detail EVERYWHERE!

The show is more enjoyable that way. But if you like cartoons and adorableness combine with a little craziness I really recommend it
