This was a prize in the Benders Vs Bronies competition held on reddit. The winner wanted a line art painting.Gradients are difficult.

The piece is a stencil painting made from a vector from the show. It is acrylic spray paint on 12x12 canvas.
All told, it took about 2 or 3 hours to make.
The photo isn't the best quality because I took it at night with a crappy camera so I could show the person who commissioned the piece the final result. I post my work to DA so that other people can enjoy the work that I do.
I understand that some people don't like MLP, and that is totally fine. I am also more than open to critique of my work. Complaining that a piece of art has a subject matter which you don't like is very childish. I am not making this for anyone but the commissioner and for myself as a project to spend an afternoon relaxing.
Before 10/8, I had heard the term Daily Deviation just once or twice. I had no idea how they were picked or anything. I am glad that I was picked because more people can see my art, which is always cool to me. I am disappointed that so many people are dropping negative comments here because it is not up to some standard they expect in a daily or because of the content.
I do want to thank everyone who has taken the time to look through my gallery and favorite some of my work. Painting is just a hobby for me that I got swept up in. Seeing other people like my work is always cool.

But the thing is they can do what they want, If they love MLP, they can do MLP. And just because some people don't want to see pony stuff, doesn't mean others like me don't want to. People who don't like it don't have to click on it. There is plenty of other artwork. And besides, you won't believe how much work goes into most of my favorite pony pics. It's just as much of a challenge. And I think you need to do more than just Pixel Art, challenge yourself more

yea I agree with you that it's pretty good but it's like you said, a vector. :/ personally I think vectors or artist who can copy other artist styles really, just- I can't. I don't like it. I agree with you that on this.

The art is in the execution here. Stencils and Spray paint (especially gradients, seriously, holy shit) are extremely hard to make look this good.
Try it yourself...it takes hundreds of hours to perfect like this.

I know exactly what you mean, I feel the same way about the painting and the ponies.
I don't want to sound rude either, because I try to appreciate all art, but...I've seen better artwork in my messages today that took days to complete. And, well, this just doesn't compare. Sadly, none of those pictures will ever get a DD either.

Considering DA a 'haven' from artwork who's subject you're not fond of seems pretentious and entitled to me.

Meh, I have seen much more quality worthy and they don't get a DD even if I suggested some, and my friends some other art as well. They're beautiful but never get picked, instead this gets picked. :l

True that, I have seen the most simplest things get a DD, sure it's for getting more attention but it should at least be a bit unique/quality worthy, and nothing that was taken from a vector.

I never said anything about the complexity or quality OR the amount of work the artist put in the spray paint (which no one knows but the artist), I just said that there were other mlp arts that got a DD to imply that the world is still in fact, in one piece.
I'm not getting into ANY arguments about this piece and its worth of praiseββeither you like it or you don't. No sense in starting a war about something like this when the artist had no control over itββit really isn't that serious to me.
