Description
This is my first time colouring a comic like this...Honestly, I was opting for either A or D [link]
But then I tried this yesterday and it doesn't take too long to do...
This is my practice comic and I'm learning more and more as I go. That said, any help you can give me would be very much appreciated! So tell me what you think.
Personally, I have a few issues with the layout and pacing and I'm working to get better with those things..
I'll replace this with an English version of the page later D:

EDIT// English version. I added a gradient type thing and changed some of the wording a bit for the English adaptation..
also: is anyone else's message centre majorly freaking out? Mine's telling me I don't have messages that I DO have and telling me I do have messages I DON'T have! D: wtf??
I'll probably upload the French version and the rest of the new pages I've done to my sketchblog later..

Yup! I've been posting (most of) the pages on my sketchblog as I do them. In fact, the ONLY reason this is here instead of only on my blog is because I wanted to know what people thought of the colouring and there are more people from whom to get feedback here than on my blog.
It's actually not much of a new twist, but the original story ^^"

The idea is this: he's not a wolf, but a man. In the version I gave you, he's a "bzou"/half-man, half-wolf who can change between the two. If you dissect all the things she says, she gives the sort of description that a child might give of a man, not a wolf (she doesn't talk about claws or sharp teeth.. she says big teeth, but that doesn't mean lupine). He tells her to take off all her clothes and get into bed with him...because he's going to rape her. In some versions she eventually gets away, in some she doesn't. Saying that he "ate her" is a euphemism, but it's understood that she's raped.

Most of them say she's eaten (I think only in the last two she gets away):
"And, saying these words, this wicked wolf fell upon Little Red Riding Hood, and ate her all up."
"And with that he jumped out of bed, jumped on top of poor Little Red Cap, and ate her up."
"And therewith the wolf sprang out of bed at once on poor little Red Hood, and ate her up."
"'That comes from eating children!' said the ogre, and bam, he swallowed Little Red Hat with one gulp." (in the Italian/Austrian version, apparently, he's an ogre)
No explicit sex scene, but there you have it! The most explicit parts are really the cannibalism (which is believed to be an act of tainting her purity, etc.) and, I GUESS the suggestion of defecating in the bed for some versions??
Something I thought was interesting is what she's carrying to her Grandmother sometimes changes depending on the audience for whom the story was written as well as whether or not the paths of pins and needles are included. There's a long explanation about the meaning behind that (or non-meaning, as the case may be - some people think it's nonsense). In all the versions I've read with the paths she chooses pins, but apparently there are some versions she chooses needles...
ANYWAY, I could ramble on about this forever, haha! Just read up on it if you're interested, I guess (:

Of the four, A to D, C was my least favourite. But I do rather like D and it's easy to do.

I believe I understood it tho. The images play out in an easy to follow manner. Maybe for panels 10 and 11/ 3rd row panel 3 and 4, it would've been better if panel 3 was in a neutral camera angle so that when the character walks of, they don't do a 180 degree turn.

if IΒ΄m guessing correctly with my lame french skills. this version of the red riding hood is pretty much the same as the one in The Wolf Brigade? (itΒ΄s her grandmothers flesh and blood sheΒ΄s dining on)

I've never heard it called "The Wolf Brigade", but it has so many different names, it's more than possible! I know it better as "The Grandmother's Tale" or "The Path of Pins and Needles", but yes! That is precisely what's going on, unbeknownst to the girl (:
