Sorry but I've got to disagree with you on that. Not only because I myself is a clopfic writer as well but also because I read enough to know its not impossible to write a nice erotic scene with a character being more than just an abridged, twisted version of herself. "Mind's Eye Rarity" is probably the best example of that.
Even this scene could've worked pretty well if Rarity'd kindly ask, instruct and convince AJ first about her BDSM plans (Safe, sane, consensual... ring something?), and only play her joker card if the farmer refuse her 'offer'. Would have been much more ladylike and in-character than a control freak (serial) rapist.
Just my two cents on how I'd have tried it, take it with a grain of salt.

I don't write a script first, and I don't care for one. I'll have a basic idea, then I'm just drawing and adding the story as it goes.
I prefer "consensual rape" to not be so consensual when it's fantasy (hentai doesn't go out of its way to make sure that when the guy rapes the girl, he's doing it consensually--other than when she starts enjoying it). Also, I prefer mistress dominatrix sadistic Rarity, so there's that.

The sex scenes themselves aren't actually bad, if you're in hurry to get the "weight off yourself" (which is most likely why this was made for). Still I prefer to set everything nicely up for the occasion with something neat and detailed that can make me squirm in my seat and send chills down my back while reading.
Guess it comes down to personal preference in the end and I approached this from the wrong end. My apologies.

It's mostly made because I want the sex with each of the Mane Six. It could have been separate stories, but I decided to tie them to one central story (the spa). Just for kicks.
Eh. Most people who don't like this one always say it's because Rarity is acting too rapey and "mean". But that's how I like Rarity, so yeah.

Honestly, I think Applejack is right to complain. Rarity bribed her with getting her out of debt, and then when AJ told her it wasn't worth it and tried to back out, Rarity BLACKMAILED HER into complying. So much for generosity.
