Very well drawn, I admire such talent you've expressed into this!! Absolutely wonderful texture along with fine toning, the image clear to see with well-shaded outlines. The creativity is great as intended, and I am impressed with this!! Well done, 10/10 of course!!
The way the art itself flows with such a formality that causes passion to overflow through my body when I see this...it's breath taking...Well done indeed and this was without a doubt considered as "Art". Not to mention overall it's such a wonderful inspiration this drawing gives me! So detailed along with a great moral sense of value, delightful scenery added with details beyond mere words! I truly value this a lot, very well expressed and high quality into the characters themselves. Even an interesting touch of some vivid coloring.

absolutely love the details and the pose!
just a question...what exactly defines one of these fu creatures? is it the complex details?(dunno who to ask, since i've seen these creatures between different artists)

Pythosart In reply to foozicle [2010-10-13 21:26:02 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
Fu Dogs are usually defined by lots of swirly fur, maybe scales, maybe jewelry, exaggerated characteristics, and usually big teeth. They are associated with strength and guardianship. [link]
I use a lot of Middle Eastern and South American elements in mine, in addition to the Asian ones that go with Fu Dogs in general.

If I were you, I'd also ask *beastofoblivion since she kind of started the whole thing.

I've noticed the swirliness
Thanks for the information! I knew i've seen the characteristics of Fu creatures somewhere..just couldn't place where. But yes, i definitely see the resemblance with those guardian statues.
I was just curious, and wanted to take a crack at creating a Fu creature myself I've wanted to do something with lots of detail, but never actually got around to it.
