Well, I kind of already have a plan. It's in no way a traditional mask. I'm going to cast the beak in resin, sand it smooth, paint it black, and varnish it. Then I'm going to make a sort of hood thing and cover the front of it in feathers. I'll be wearing a hood over it, so my eyes won't be visible, but just to be sure, I'll have either black cloth screens or darkened lenses to hide any trace of skin.
You can, however, help me with the vambraces. I've never worked with leather before (though I intend to use faux leather, which can be stitched with a sewing machine). I'm a decent tailor, so I don't think I'll need help with the actual costume.

Well, I've already got a boatload of resin, so I may as well do something with it.
Really, I'd like to collab on the vambraces, since we'll need to make sure they're comfortable and accurate. Also, I'm good at machine stitching, so I can help out with all that stuff.
What I'll need for them, just so you know:
-Leather (real or faux), Black (don't know how much I need.
-10 belt buckles (any metal)
-2 metal zippers
I suppose we can. Though really, I like my big green Fu a lot, and his face would fit a mask pretty well if we were to simplify it. [link]

Okay. My question is did you want designs carved into the vambraces. If so, I have to get a particular kind of leather that will have to be dyed black after the carving is done. If you want plain vambraces with only the buckles and zippers, then I know what to use. It also depends on how stiff you want them. If you want them nice and flexible then faux or clothing grade leather is the best bet.
I was looking at ur green fu. He does have a very nice face for a mask

Also, how much are you willing to spend for the vambraces since they will be real leather? My estimate for materials cost is about $35. That might be on the high side. I have to do a little more looking around. I might be able to get away with $25...We'll see.

Ok! Would you have time to go with me to a leather store to get the materials or would it be easier if I just went and got the materials myself? Either way I'm gonna have to crash ur place (or you can come to my house) to get measurements done.
Also...about the zippers. It shouldn't be a problem but it would be FAR easier and much less time to attach the zippers be using leather cement. It's stronger than superglue and will take less time.

Meh, I suppose. I don't think anyone minds as long as they don't look any more like Ty's Avians. This is why I chose a flightless dragon to add the funny chin to.

Yeah, she's fairly protective of them... I don't blame her, either. Her designs have gotten stolen more than once and it's so hard to track on dA. There are just too many people.
I don't really know her all that well. We've spoken once or twice and we're mutual watchers, but that's about where it ends.
