-blink- A giant turtle? A giant turtle. ... Only you. On second hand, what does the turtle eat? 0_o Er normal turtles eat sea grass and jellyfish... right? So unless there are giant jellyfishes or a whole crap load of sea grass, how is it that the turtle's not starving?

Pythosart In reply to Pocky-holic [2010-11-27 05:20:36 +0000 UTC]
Ahem. It's from a novel series. And it's a space turtle. I dunno what it eats. Meteors, or something >:T
Only you would ask that question.

Oh okay. Not only you then. @___@ It makes no logical sense. Maybe meteors? Poor turtle getting indigestion. Yeah, only me.

IT'S A GODDAMN FANTASY SERIES. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE LOGICAL SENSE.

I need to suck it up and do watercolors again. Nice job.
I'm good with waters, but I don't like 'em

Watercolors annoy me sometimes. I still like them better than acrylics, though.

I like acrylics better ---> moare forgiving and can be used exactly like watercolors if need be
Watercolors can be fun tho

Pythosart In reply to Draikairion [2010-11-27 16:59:29 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but when acrylics dry, you can't do a wash over them. With watercolor you can.

Draikairion In reply to Pythosart [2010-11-27 17:03:44 +0000 UTC]
Depends on how thin you do acrylics. True, you can't do a successful wash over thickly applied acrylics, but if used like watercolors, it acts just the same. Watercolors are less messy though . I wish acrylics would be the same way

Nah, the watered down acrylic doesn't stick. I've tried.

What brand are you using?
I use Golden, Reeves and Marie's

Draikairion In reply to Pythosart [2010-11-28 18:42:35 +0000 UTC]
Grumbacher --> older, high-quality brand.
I also noticed my watercolor effect works better with less opaque acrylics

Pythosart In reply to Draikairion [2010-11-28 18:59:41 +0000 UTC]
Golden and Reeves are both very well established and top-notch quality brands. Golden is almost pure pigment, and I use it for watercolor, acrylic painting, and sculpture painting. I only have a Reeves black at the moment, but I've used them in the past. Marie's is a cheaper brand that I use mostly for sculptures.
Yeh, it is so, but it's still difficult to do a wash over thickly applied acrylic. Also, with acrylic, you can't do many of the cool effects that you can with watercolor and ink.

AWYEAH
High five! I always love it when other people know the Discworld series. Very hard to find fans in the U.S. Same with Doctor Who :I Geez, most of the stuff I'm a fan of is British and not very well known in this country. WHYYYY

kaijae In reply to Pythosart [2010-11-28 16:07:06 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I love the series, very few books actually manage to make me laugh, but they do.
BUT sometimes stuff comes out in the U.S. that we Brits have to wait months & months & months for D: (well I just stream it - but still..) Although I do prefer our comedy XD

Same here. It's difficult for a novel to get even a chuckle out of me, but Discworld is unbelievably successful at making me LOL.
Internet is a wonderful thing, huh? I hate waiting unnecessarily long for things to come out x.x Although this year BBC America is actually showing the Doctor Who Christmas special at Christmas instead of in March.
What kinds of things do you get stuck waiting for?
