This is actually fan art sorta (Ridgedog again. That's him on the ornithopter), but I hope it stands on its own merits even for people outside the fandom! I haven't drawn an airship (or any steampunk) in a long time, but gosh it's just as much fun as I remember.
All the fan art I've been doing lately is actually excellent practice. -ART SKILL LEVEL UP-

It's not from a story, I'm afraid. The character belongs to Ridgedog (from the Yogscast), and the ship mostly came from a conversation with him. Sorry to disappoint!

That is a most impressive airship. The purple and gold give it a regal and imposing presence. Is the ornithopter the equivalent of the ship's dingy?

Damn, again you make me extremely jealous of your skills. the details on it all scream ridge and its fantastic that hes just coming up to it. The dog on the front of the ship, the colours that perfectly compliment each other, the era the ship was from! It fits all so perfectly together that I could see Ridge owning it and being all casual about it!
