Description
A Red Deer stag in the rutting season letting his voice be heard. The weather can't put me off, it was a little rainy, so I was sat under a tree this morning with my camera.
After much thought I've Re-edited using On1 Phototools 2.0 plugin for Photoshop.
I didn't want to do it after having a Daily deviation already with this shot, but I think I've improved the punchiness of the image.
If anyone disagrees let me know please.

Wow... sounds strange but its antlers look a little like hands and the deer is screaming 'why!?' up at the sky... Aw, I almost want to give it a hug, it looks sad.
I love this shot.

Bloody hell, what a magnificent capture. Not just the deer, either, but the sharpness of the dry grasses around him. That's a wilderness shot that makes me want to get outside myself. I feel most at home outside and there aren't many photos that can stir that feeling in me while I'm sat at my desk - but this is one of them.
Did you have to wait long to see this fellow, and did you take lots of shots of him before you reached this beauty?

Amazing I love how the colors of the background and the elk go so well together and the lighting, though rainy and cloudy, is perfect

Congrats on the DD, beautiful shot like John said! I am wondering was this 200mm like the exif says or did you have on the 1.4x TC to get more range on seeing though you were shooting full frame?
