Description
I've been on bit of a TIE fighter craze lately not sure why lol. But this is my favorite so far, I came up with this concept from watching Star Wars episode 3. Basically took a tie cockpit and added wings similar to that of the Jedi star fighters found in the movie. I guess I could have added a few more details but I think it came out pretty awesome. Took about 8 hours in Google Sketchup and about 30 minutes getting the render right with v-ray.Looks like a pretty wicked interceptor fighter type, but use your imagination i suppose!!!
Tell me what you think.

This is more like the JEDI Starfighter Mk II seen in ROTS and is therefore AWESOME!!!

Rather good designs, though I still don't like the tie cockpits since have limited view. However I do like this design better than some of the other tie varients I seen. Seems like more streamlined and even more aerodynamic too.

This looks like it could be a new variant on its own, I would name it, the Tie Elite.

There already is a type of tie interceptor and I does not look like that, but the model looks good though!

Oh, yes, intermediate phase between Eta-2 "Actis" and final mass-produced TIE fighter. Thank you!
If I only could use this idea in the scene with lost pre-Empire research facility! Some laboratory or space station found again about 8 or 7 BBY by freelancers...

Stylistically, the TIE appears to be descended from those Jedi starfighters from Episode III, so this is a logical progression. o:

Err, I think he made this a cross between the TIE fighter and the Jedi Interceptor anyway?

seems so. But I think it turned out good. I remember, I spant some weeks, inventing new TIE types. One of the strangest TIEs, I ever found in the net is the TIE crawler, I guess: [link]

Yea the crawler was actually a tank, known as the century as well.

Yea that was the idea, a cross between the two, and I didnt really feel like coming up with a new name just wanted to upload it and get it done!!!

Very sweet. My only issue is that I looked at the title and was expecting the old style TIE-Intercepter, so you might want to consider a name change to Interdictor or something so that there isn't confusion.

Yea I didnt really want to name it that because of the former, but I didnt know what else to name it, it just screams interceptor to me!

I know, its an interceptor to the core. Eh, I'll just consider it a predecessor. Interceptor SERIES model #1?

Sounds good! Or a TIE-Interceptor Prototype. the missing link so to speak between the Eta-2 Actis-class and the first TIE-Interceptor!

Yea thanks haha, I guess no one is above an occasional spelling error lol. And I tested a few background but none really seemed to fit it, Im working on building a tie hangar to render it in well see how that works.
