I used the mesh tool. Just click and drag points. It's that simple. :3 (Google for "illustrator mesh tool" for moar.)

Reminds me of a fake .50 cal revolver that showed up recently, I wouldn't jeapordized my wrist by firing one of those, nice pic!

whoa how did you do that?? i can never understand how vector works so all my 'so-called cg art' looks as flat and boring as a saucepan.

Reminded me of Vash's gun, because of the revovler bullet chamber and the elongated or rather widened barrel casing. I designed a sniper rifle myself, not too long ago. Also been doing some vector stuff. I don't what all this talk about Photoshop being like Illustrator, though. that seems rather misleading.

Illustrator is quite easy actually, but the precision of the pen-tool can get a bit anal at times.
If you have it try it yourself, it is almost like Photoshop.
