Thanks a lot man, I appreciate the link, gorgeous car!
As far as I know they are both 71's... I like this style, they are just starting to become popular right now!
I have a 1972 Dodge Coronet Police car I am restoring that fits right in with them! (essentially they are mostly the same car, same floor pan, trunk floor, subframes, rear window, dash, interior parts and they might even share the same deck lid!)
Did you check out the rear shot too? [link]

Oh man, I can't wait to see pics of your '72 Coronet I'm old enough to remember the Highway Patrol driving them back in the day and I thought they were so tough looking - a 4-door Roadrunner

I like these less popular ones a lot, they are really becoming popular these days thought due to the cost of buying the earlier ones... The cool thing about this one is that it's owned by a 16 year old!

seriously?
ive heard these stories of american drivers pickin up 60's / 70's muscle cars for hardly anything and am amazed they get insurance
my cousin had a 1.4 litre mini copper as a first car and it cost him £2000 on insurance
i guy i go to work with had a 5 litre v8 mustang with racing cams, transmission and carbs for his first car when he lived in america and it was £1500 insurance
i just dont get it

Well here in Canada there are ways to get the insurance costs down a bit, there's driver training courses, and then you can get put under your parents insurance, it makes theirs go up a little bit, but it's waaaaay cheaper then going on your own when you're a teen.
Also, how you register a car here will make a difference, if you call it a Mini Cooper S it will cost more then if you call it an Austin... sometimes you get away with it too!
The most expensive vehicle I have registered and insured yet has been my 1 ton F350 Ford truck... and that surprised me!

i suppose cheating works
a guy i know had a mini cooper and it was a really nice one too but his girlfreind accidentally stacked it
he was cakin himself cos he had custom exhausts, headers, wheels e.t.c and hadent toldd the insurance company about it
so he got it back to his house as quick as he could and ripped most of the bits off in a couple of minutes
the cars pretty much written off but he insists on trying to restore it
good luck to him

Ugh... that sort of thing sucks so bad, I hate dealing with insurance for accidents, I got into a bad one with my dads hot rod 86 Lincoln LSC 2 years ago, it took over a year to get anything to happen with insurance, and they tried to screw us constantly...

you know what they say
shit happens
its funny my dad had two minis (one of which he crashed and the other someone else wrecked) my cousin had a mini, my freind has a mini and im getting a mini mayfair 25 as a resto project for my first car (as soon as ive got it ill upload some pics)
look up mini 25's there quite rare especially in right hand drive. they were built for minis 25th birthday and all were silver with a red stripe.
