Description

Built as the succeeding ship from the Vengeance Class, the Devastator Class was the next 'King' of the big ships. The Class would be start construction following the comissioning of the Ghidorah Class, which was being built at the time. Around 19 Devastators' would be built, and 5 more during the early 24th Century. The Devastator's saucer was brand new, and furthermore, it was built close to the Utopia Planitia Kelsor development area, and as such, the saucer had a striking resemblence to the Yamamoto Saucer that they built, only 1.5x bigger in circumference. The Devastator Class lasted about as long as the Excelsior Classes, as they were seen around both the Alpha & Beta Quadrants, thou, as they were in continued service their designation was changed from Dreadnought to Exploration Cruiser; it only regained the role of Dreadnought when the Dominion War started.
