Description
The successor to the Nexcelsior Classes of the 2390s, the Exempler Class brings the Excelsior-type configurations to a whole new level. The Exempler Class was originally conceived in 2659 as a smaller alternative to the IoBreaker Classes; as soon as 2660 reared its head, Utopia Planita Yards and later the Daystrom Institute created over the 6 years. When 2667 came-about, the first of the new class was built & fully comissioned; USS Exempler, NX/NCC-74933.
After it ran some more trials it was put fully into service and 60 Exempler Classes would follow after their class's namesake. Except, this being a successor to the Excelsior ment that the USS Excelsior would get an incarnation; that being USS Excelsior, NCC-2000-H. The new USS Excelsior, around 4 years into service was attacked by a outragously overpowered ship equal to their own, so much so that the Excelsior-H lost it's power for around 2 minutes. After they got the power back on, nothing was on sensors; as if what attacked them had just simply vanished into the vastness of deep-space.
