Description

Some images I had made for a Discord icon contest over at Smogon's Create-a-Pokemon Project. Both of them are the fakemon Pajantom! The one on the left is the small, real Pajantom, while the one on the right is the specter the left one conjures up when sleeping in battle. The icons would have been cropped to the boundaries of the background, but I've presented them in full for completeness.

The left was the one I submitted, while the one on the right was the draft I was working on before deciding to switch gears entirely. I wanted the icon to be of one of the modern CAP 'mons, and I felt like the Pajantom specter, with its toothy, glowy face, was iconic enough to fit within a 48x48 icon. I gave the specter a fisheye lens sort of distortion, but ultimately, I couldn't get it to look good in icon form, so I went with the small Pajantom instead and made something cute. That worked out nicer, although I ultimately didn't like how the cel-shading looked in icon size. I voted for other options when it came down to polls.

Depending on how you count, I either got third place or second-to-last.
