Hey there,

I commissioned a tailor to make the costume. The hat I made with wire sculpting and felt sewn over, but the result was a heavy, clunky, and highly uncomfortable mess. I wouldn't recommend it.

Awesome job! I want to be able to go to Mickey's party one day, but I don't live anywhere near the States. I'd definitely go as Clopin my own self on that day.

Thanks!

We are going because a family friend is a face character (Snow White), and she got us passess :3

But yeah, you are kinda far...

I'll be sure to take lots of pictures - of my costume and there

That'd be really cool. At Disneyland, in CA, they have a Clopin face character... Not one in Florida though...

You need a hot glue gun. It makes life a LOT easier.
Nice tutorial though, and very creative with putting the nose peice on too. I know exactly what you mean about making life difficult XD

*applause* Did you cut your hair that way to make it work, or is your hair just naturally perfect for the costume?

Also, I like how you fill the waiting period by reading HoND.

quartervirus-archive In reply to xkookypandax [2012-09-18 17:35:48 +0000 UTC]

At the time it was cut shoulder length, but I got it straightened to be more Clopin-like. Looked like crap without the costume, though, so eventually I got tired of it. It's shorter now.

Spirit gum is better for the beard, if it can with stand the heat of stage lights, it can survive your con. (and removal is mostly painless.)

It's been mentioned but Singapore seems mostly devoid of spirit gum.

Thanks for the tutorial. Now where's my super glue? XD
Oh, I do have a tip about the beard if no ones already told you that. In costume shops you should find false beards and things like that, I was thinking of using and styling one of those...
Anyway, they have some kind of glue that you can stick to your face. It feels like super glue but trust me it isn't. I have tried it with a couple of beards and things and have always been imprssed. My friend on the other hand used it on a Grimmjow (bleach) facial mask but we found out after a few hours i doesn't work on heavy objects quite as well. Also make sure there is an anti beard glue that comes with it, you will thank me later for that. Because if you dont... yep still peeling you skin off. Anyway that's my tip and thanks again for the tutorial. My Clopin cosplay stands no chance at the October Expo in London! I'm just worried how I'm gonna do his bloomin pants!
Anyway have fun, hope it works and ....Daaaammmmnnn this is long XD

People have suggested that glue in the comments but it's unavailable in Singapore.

You've got yourself a Clopin cosplayer in Ballarat, Australia now. No one knew who I was dressed up as until I started singing. XD Good thing I can pull off his crazy-ass accent. You have my most sincere thanks, and I have put a tag in the costume with your username on it so I won't forget who the credit goes to.
