Description
I'm back with this thing: a quick introduction to the various classes and tiers of my original species known as the Corrupted. These transhuman individuals have absorbed foreign energies from the Void, the plane of the afterlife. Gaining powers and unnatural enhancements to their bodies at the cost of their soul and lifespan. Primarily created and kept by the faction known mainly as Corruption (the Collective is the proper term, but they go with whatever the general public calls them), they are connected via a telepathic hivemind from which they can anticipate each other's actions and use information that others know subconsciously. This hivemind is entirely unconscious, and no direct orders are given but instead manifests through small actions, instinct, intuition, and sudden impulses that the corrupted individual acts upon.
The ways the Void works are strange, and creates many forms based on the human who absorbs its power. The physical changes that can occur have been separated into different Classes, each of these separated into Tiers which represent how much exposure to the Void a human/corrupted has.
In the Collective, they have evolved towards a caste system, distributing jobs based on the classification of corrupted that each member falls into. Every member begins as a human, but as they rise through the ranks, absorb more Void, and transform, they grow into their new roles (sometimes literally). Shown here are some of the classifications that are commonly found worldwide and the role they are given in Corruption. Note, these are not the only types of corrupted and there are over a dozen more classes with varying amounts of rarity worldwide.
