IDK if Spike has had ENOUGH episodes focused around him (I've watched a lot of episodes, but not every last one of them...) but there should be an episode where he at least wonders about his ACTUALΒ parents.
I keep thinking of that moment in Winter Wrap-Up where he mumbles 'You're not Mommy' to Twilight. Who's to say he wasn't dreaming of his ACTUAL Mother? Just because he was in his egg doesn't mean he didn't have any contact with her.
