Sirius Black and James Potter. (ooooh, doncha love 'em?)6 solid hours colouring. It started out as a trial colouring following a tutorial, but I kinda ..went the whole way and ended up liking it, even though the original drawing itself was just a trial Sirius and James (I wanted to develop my own version of them - alas, James looks quite stupid and Sirius too old). - Tutorial from
Does Sirius look evil? Because he's supposed to be like, "laughing at James' ridiculous ego" y'know? Not EVIL...
Anyway. Hardcore effort.

Haha after I replied to your comment in practically essay-format I decided to check out your gallery. I figured you were a James fan (wild guess? lol) and though I doubt I shall ever consider him one of my most liked characters, I do appreciate good art when I see it! (Yes, even if it is about James...) Anyways, I love this photo. Just as much as I adore Sirius Black. I think their expressions are perfect and there's no questioning their close friendship (more like brothers). Don't be surprised if you get tons of feeback messages from me lol As I shall be lurking your gallery for HP art

Haha no that's cool! I'm flattered. I'm not a Snape hater - I think the Snape/Lily thing was sweet but he was really mean to Harry, and abused his power as a professor a bit. I just still like LxJ more - they were really in love, it was a shame James' high school rep ruined his memory!
Anyway, don't wanna rant again myself hahaha Thanks again tho!

Yeah he was a dick to Harry, but I guess that was his only way of getting revenge at James. What do you mean abused his position as professor? Yeah it is a shame cause I used to like Harry's parents in the first few films when not much was known about them except how much they loved their son. However all of my fondness towards him pretty much vanished when OOTP came out. Funny thing is Snape wasn't even one of my favorite characters at the time. (I don't even remember how he became my fave lol). Hahah don't worry, I'm like the #1 ranter whenit comes to proving a point or discussing obsessions.

That's strange! I'm totally opposite - I mean I loved James and then was totally disappointed at how he was a jerk - but then I had a think about it, and he obviously grew up because Lily wouldn't have married him had he still been a jerk, and all those people wouldn't have said what a great guy he was if it weren't true. JKR said herself that Snape abused his position as a professor the way he treated non-Slytherins and especially Harry. He was a bully. It's different when you're a grown man and calling a 12 year old girl and "insufferable know-it-all" etc etc. So I'm far more willing to like James than Snape!
I think us two are winners at rants... haha

Well yeah he grew up, but that doesn't mean he was ever nice to Snape or even apologized to him for all the years of endless humiliation. Otherwise Snape wouldn't still hate him so much. Besides everyone thought he was a great guy even when he was a bully. I don't think the teachers were even aware of the bullying going on otherwise they would have done something to stop it. Especially McGonagall who has no tolerance for that sort of thing. I didn't say Snape didn't abuse his position as professor, but if you really thinka bout it ALL the Hogwarts professors favor their own house. How bout that time Madam Hooch said if anyone dared to fly their broom while she went to take Neville to the hospital they'd be expelled? Harry flew and did he get expelled or punished when McGonagall saw him? No, instead, he became the new Quidditch seeker. Another favoritist professor- Slughorn. So yeah Snape was obviously the most "abusive" f his position, but it's not like the other teachers were absolutely impartial to everyone or every house. Yeah he's a grown man, but it's only natural he bully the students because he himself was bullied and it's his way of getting back/ avenging himself. It's not like anyone raised him with love and care and taught him morals or anything so for having the awful childhood/past he had, he turned out to be a very good person. Besides, he can't be all smiles and sunshine anyways considering Voldemort thinks he's on his side. I'm pretty sure if Snape treated Harry like a king Voldemort would get suspicious. And he may bully the students on occasion, but when it comes down to it he is always looking out for the. Ex. When the Carrows took over Hogwarts he did everything he could to protect them. So despite his harsh insults and his treatment of some students, heβs a pretty heroic and noble man. That being said, I think Iβll stick to Snape over James.
Haha yeah! We deserve a rant prize! But weβre very professional ranters because all this time, despite our differences of opinion, weβve kept our arguments completely civil

Have you taken the "serious" HP sorting hat test? I got hufflepuff for it and was quite mortified. Although I always knew I'd be one. Check it out here: [link]

lol Haha well then the ranting has, at long last, come to an end! (At least the James vs Snape rant, that is). LMAO yeah I've taken it TWICE just to make sure and at different times to see if the results varied. And, as I expected, I was (thankfully and most delightedly) sorted into Slytherin. Both times. I knew I would be though. Hufflepuff was out of the question because I am not hardworking (I get A's but I don't study cause I'm lazy and a procrastinator) and I'm also not kind to everyone either. In fact I can be outright nasty when pissed off or in a bad mood. Ravenclaw was also definitely out because I'm no genius and being brainy is not one of my life ambitions. I prefer cleverness, resourcefulness, impulse...etc etc. And Gryffindor well..I got that second. I've got nothing against it, but it's too goody-good for me. Everyone expects Gryffindors to be these courageous, heroic, noble people and I just don't fit into that. Oh God, did I just rant? lol Forgive me. Force of habit. Haha mortified, were you? I'd be too! My brother, best friend, and mother all got Hufflepuff. I was purely ashamed. Especially because I expected my best friend to get Gryffindor. But my other friend got Slytherin so that was a relief.

We are polar opposite it seems. I was Hufflepuff first, S and R second equal and G last! Well Gryffindor isn't for just heroic people. Stereotypically they're the "jocks" but I think everyone has a bit of brave in them. I think Huffepuffs just doubt themselves to much and Ravenclaws and Slytherins place other values higher. I have 3 brothers and between the 4 of us we were sorted into separate houses - as expected. It's personality types. JKR tends to exaggerate them. Making Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws "boring" and Slytherins and Gryffindors more interesting. I think R and H should have won a house cup or quidditch trophy at least once..........just to make up for her stereotyping lol
I'm not that hardworking either though - only at the things I'm most passionate about. I'm just kind (slash weak) enough to be in Hufflepuff. I'm embracing it now...
yay rants never end

Alwaysss-Sslytherin In reply to quidwitch [2010-11-22 03:37:11 +0000 UTC]
Yes we are opposites indeed! Ahh so you're a Hufflepuff! That's funny cause my mother, brother, and best friend all took the same test and got Hufflepuff as well. I was shocked cause I thought my friend would be a Gryffindor (her fave actually) although Ravenclaw could also suit her. I'll have to remember to make my dad take the quiz XD Haha I wouldn't be surprised if he got Slytherin. My short temper and cynicism come from him after all. Wow I never actually thought of the Gryffindors as "jocks" but yeah I guess that could pretty much fit them (not all though ex.Neville, Remus, Peter). Yeah all the houses values are ranked in different orders. No way! All four of you were sorted differently? JKR does exaggerate them sometimes but not ridiculously. I don't think it was her intention to make them "boring", it's just that the focus wasn't on them. Luna is a Ravenclaw and boy is she FARRR from boring. Cho on the other hand was pretty bland (then again I might be biased cause I never really liked her much). Well they may not have won a House Cup, but Cedric (a Hufflepuff) was the original chosen champion for the Triwizard Tournament and would've won. So it's not like R and H were 100% ignored. As for me, judging on the qualities that make up each house I would think Gryffindors and Slytherins particularly are the most interesting, but that's just my opinion. I guess it all boils down to the qualities you admire which is why I seem to like the Slytherins the best. I've never really been the type to glorify nobility, kindness, and intelligence/hard work as the best qualities a person could have. They're not bad qualities (in fact they are quite wonderful) but for some reason, I find celeverness, cunning, resourcefulness, independance, and strength much more appealing.
Haha I don't think your weak you probably just haven't discovered the extent of your bravery yet. I'm not sure where my courage lies either. It depends really. I'm brave when it comes to standing up for my friends and a total wimp when it comes to dentists/orthodontists lol. Embracing it huh? That's what I kep telling my brother but he's in total denial. Poor kid was totally keen on being a Gryffindor. I reckon he's too much f a softie and not quite brave enough. lol we could rant on for hours! XD

I was sitting here, absorbed in what you were saying, then it hit me: The knowledge about and thought process we have put into the world of Harry Potter is phenomenal. We could be professors of Harry Potter. As in, the study of it, not hogwarts professors. We are so cool.
Anyway, JKR says it's down to our choices - so your brother would be in Gryffindor if he really wanted it. Personally, the idea of choosing a house is bas because at 11, do we really know what we're best suited for? I'd "choose" to be in the house that I'd be the happiest in. I wonder what would have happened had Harry let the sorting hat place him in Slytherin though? I guess there's no need to debate that, it was only foreshadowing the whole Harry-is-a-horcrux thing...

Alwaysss-Sslytherin In reply to quidwitch [2010-11-25 20:42:01 +0000 UTC]
That's it! We could totally be HP professors! Especially when it comes to analyzing characters and understading what they do and why they do it. (Snape and James, anyone? lol) Wouldn't it be great if that was an actual job??? I think schools should make reading HP mandatory. There are some pretty great life lessons in those books not to mention they're entertaining and have some of the greatest literary characters.
I agree it's up to our choices, but I don't think the sorting hat would put someone in a house of their choice if they didn't exhibit any of the qualities for it. I believe it's more of a balance. For example: Let's say Draco wanted to be in Hufflepuff (as if lol), I don't think the sorting hat would have been willing to do so seeing as Draco is neither kind nor hard working. But w.e, it's just a thought.
Well yeah 11 is young but the hat is able to look into your thoughts and mind to see what makes you tick, what qualities you have, and which house would suit you best. So although not many 11 year olds know what they're suited for, the sorting hat does. Yeah I wonder the same thing! Had Ron not told Harry "There wasn't a witch or wizard that went bad who wasn't in Slytherin" (Or Hagrid if your going by the books), then he wouldn't have wanted to be in Gryffindor in the first place cause he wouldn't have even known what the difference was. I believe he would have been in Slytherin. And for all we know he may have even done well. Not ALL Slytherins are bad after all. He could've avenged their horrible reputation by leading as an example.

quidwitch In reply to Alwaysss-Sslytherin [2010-11-25 20:59:21 +0000 UTC]
Yeah a lot of what Hagrid said kind of stuffed it up - He said Hufflepuff are said to be a load of duffers (in the book) but he'd rather be in there than Slytherin - and that quote about witches or wizards who go bad - Isn't entirely correct. I mean, look at Peter Pettigrew - and while Sirius hadn't revealed the truth at that point of the series, Sirius would've looked like the bad one. He wasn't in Slytherin! Although his whole family were Slytherins, so I suppose that says something.
Ok I can't stop concentrating on the idea that you. havent. read. the. books!
Go! Read!
And don't talk to me again until you've finished!
lol I'm starting to treat u the way I treat my friends - very bossily...

Yeah if you ask me Hagrid, as nice as he is to the trio, is quite the biased man! That goes to show that Gryffindors too can be a bit prejudiced. As oppose to the common belief that being in Gryffindor means you're a noble hero. Exaclty! Peter was in Gryffindor and was worse imo than Voldemort because he betrayed his friends and nothing makes me sicker. Voldemort was just an unloved asshole who wanted to make himself invincible, but he didn't betray anyone. Yeah that too! Well Andromeda was a Slytherin and she was NEVER remotely bad. Slughorn wasn't bad either. If you really think about it, the only confirmed Death Eaters who were in Slytherin are Bellatrix, Lucius, Tom Riddle, and those who Tom Riddle befriended. (Plus Avery and Mulciber or whatever). But there's no proof that ALL DE's were in Slytherin or even went to Hogwarts in the first place. Besides most were from Slytherin bc Tom was in Slytherin and he recruited ppl from his own house. Had he been in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw or whatever most of them would have been from there.
Well get over it because telling me to read will make me do the exact opposite! I'm quite defiant and don't like being told what to do Besides I CAN'T READ because the library did not have the first three books! I'm not going to read books 4 and 5 and then go back to 1-3 and then to 6 and 7! That's ridiculous! Yes you're quite the bossy little Hufflepuff aren't you!

Lol noooo I'm forcing you to read out of sheer love! lol. Honestly, the best part about the whole story are the books. Trust me! Man I would even send you my copies if you were from NZ!
Actually - I think DE are mainly Slytherin because of the pure-blood prejudice. Salazar Slytherin left Hogwarts over an argument with the other founders about letting in muggleborns and that - his house was mainly about 'keeping it a pure race'. Voldemort was was more evil than Peter - but people hate Peter more because Peter defied his friends - Voldemort is more selfish and would defy anyone. He's not a traitor, just a really sad soul.
Read the books.

Lmao love can be so irritating sometimes!! Haha well unfrotunately I'm not from NZ so I'm afraid sending me your books is out of the question, but hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on them soon. Worry not, I'll find a way to get them even if it means using my lunch money and having to resort to asking my friends for food. A plan will come to mind eventually...kinda like it did last year when I asked my parents to buy me a $300 dollar costume for Halloween. My mother flat out refused at first so I pinched a few dollars from my brother and skipped a few lunches in order to gather the money myself, but it later proved unnecessary when my father told my mother to just let me get what I wanted (which I did not see coming at all). Maybe I shouldn't have told you that, now I sound horrible lol. "Those clever folk use any means to achieve their ends." The sorting hats' accuracy is frightening!
Well that could be it too but I'm sure if Tom Riddle would have been in any other house he would have naturally recruited from there. However it just so happens he was in Slytherin. Peter wasn't EVIL but he ranks much worse on my list than Voldemort (who had a horrible background and was incapable of love from the day he was born because his conception was not founded on it). Peter was a total bastard turning on his friends and getting them killed. That does NOT deserve forgivness. He doesn't even appear sorry!
Tell me to read the books one more time and I swear I'll steal a wand from Ollivanders, fly to New Zealand, and hex you! (Possibly with that foam thing James used on Snape so you'll know what poor Snape went through! Maybe that'll make you more sympathetic! lol)

Scourgify? That's used to clean up messes - it acts like soap when you use it at someones mouth. Nah, you don't scare me! You should... just kidding. I trust you will
I have a wand from Alivans. My brother got it for me a few years ago - the Elder wand (or Dumbledore's wand as it was listed at the time - the book only recently came out and revealed it's true nature). Of course it was meant to be a copy of the movie one but it's so less detailed and beautiful than the one in the movie. I wish it DID do magic. I'm of age - I could use magic on you! And I'm coming over to America in less than a month - I'll hunt you down heh heh (where was it did you say you lived?)
Yeah I hate Peter too. He was a boring character anyway. Umbridge is the only person I hate more, probably. She was awful.
LOL about the Halloween costume incident. You are a Slytherin. Except not a bad one. We all have a little bad within us all. It's less about being mean or nice and more about other traits. One house cannot be entirely evil!

Yeah sure "scourgify". I don't scare you cause you haven't met me person to person! lool I'm just kidding. As I am not from NZ I'm going to have to ask you what Alivans is.. I'm planning on getting a wand at Ollivanders when I go to the WWoHP in December. I realllyyy want Narcissa's! It's like the prettiest wand I've ever seen. And it's feminine
Yeah I WISH they could do magic! That would make me the happiest damn person in the world. Yes you're of age, so what? I'm not afraid of a little underaged magic! Haha how many times did Harry get away with it? And I honestly doubt you could hunt me down without knowing what state I live in XD You have fifty to choose from and after that you'd have to go city bi city, so I'll take my chances.
Ughhh Umbridge SUCKED! That is certainley something we could agree on! No debating there lol
How do you know I'm not a bad Slytherin??? Haha I'm not, I'm not. Just a selfish one when it comes to getting what I want. Of course a house can't be entirely evil! Another thing we can agree on ;D

We wouldn't be talking if you were a bad Slytherin. You have nothing to gain from me, haha!
Alivans is the online wizarding shop. They advertise on MuggleNet.com. It's *more* than a Kiwi shop. We have nothing specially HP related here. Everyone's too LotR - loyal. I still haven't visited Hobbiton and it's literally a 1 hour drive from where I live. And yet I'm flying to America so I can go to Harry Potter World. (Truth is I wanted to go to England more, to see the filming locations etc, but my brothers paying for the trip and he wanted to go tour the US).
My guess is that you live in.... um... Hawaii. No, Mississippi. Utah? How about North Carolina. Illinois?
I give up.

Really? We have a lot of HP stuff over here. Not single stores dedicated to it, but you know. Meh I never got into LotR...I'm HP all the way! I've never been to England but I reallllyyy want to go. Trust me you're going to LOVE the wizarding world! It's so true to the film. And everyone I've asked says that butterbear is the most delicious thing in the world.
Hawaii....not even close! Mississippi...most definitely not! Utah....oh hell no I'd die! North Carolina...no but I have a cabin there and I love it! Illinois......nope! Looks like you're going to have to try a little harder than that Tehheee
P.S. Don't forget to reply to my other response concerning the James/Snape debate!!!
