Description
So, I've created a nice little tool in vb.net which allows you to convert a picture pixel by pixel into an excel file.Download links:
Microsoft .Net Framework: [link]
Img2Xls: [link]
Winrar: [link]
Here are the steps shown in the tutorial:
1) Download Microsoft .Net framework and install it.
2) Download my tool from Mediafire
3) Unzip it into a folder. You may need Winrar for this.
4) Copy your images into the same folder as my tool
5) Here's the fun part. Drag and drop the picture onto the Img2Xls icon
6) Wait for the program to process the image, then open it
Excel files take a long time to save, so please reduce your images to about 50px by 50px big? More would take longer, but try 50x50 to get an idea of how long it'll take.
Just comment/send me a note if you have any problems or find a bug.
I'm considering coming up with a proper interface you can handle, but so far all the layouts don't look that great. So you'll have to work with this.

First up, I had no idea people did pixel art in excel. I'm struggling to understand why, other than "why not" so I guess what works! Secondly... Most pixel artists I know would rather take a long time and pixel by hand than use a program to pixelate a stock image. Half of the fun is the time and effort needed to do pixel art. While the program seems like a neat idea, I think it is terribly poor form. Clicking a couple of buttons is just too easy, that isn't an "art" it is just lazy.

I have no idea why people do pixel art in excel either. But what this program allows you to do is convert pixel art done in paint or other programs, and paste them into excel.

Aah, I assumed it was for converting normal pictures into excel pixel art... No wonder I was confused. Still don't know *why* someone would! Weird! Still, that is art!

You can use normal pictures for the program, it's meant for pixel art. Which means if you want to convert your completed image to excel, then it'll be easier to do.
