Alrighty. As promised(?), a remake of my Ancients A Go Go picture from a little over a year ago. This time with Hidekaz style chibis.The positioning of the names are not an indication of their location on the map (otherwise Germania and Carthage would be somewhat off). Also Iberia's mantle is now a shade of Tyrian purple (to reflect Phoenician influences) and fastened under arm instead of over shoulder
Of course these are just the ones I've tried my hand at making so far. At some point I am tempted to extend it to include the Sarmatia region and what lay further eastward. However, I'd have a lot of reading to do before I can get around to doing that. I will also be doing a Hidekaz!chibi for ~Tyche-Pasithea 's Phoenicia in the near future because really, you can't miss Phoenicia. Also poor Magyar who was missed off this time for not getting to the world stage until some time later.
On that note, maybe I'll do a medieval map some time soon.

AMAZING! Maybe Egypt could be a bit more Macedonian looking, reflecting the Ptolemaic Empire, if this is in the time period I'm thinking; around 280BC.

This looks wicked cool. Those chibis actually looked very similar to Hima's and the colors are gorgeous! Great job!

Your designs for Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece are perfect.
Carthage is just epic. He seems to be the ancestor of Tunisia, Libya, etc.
Iberia and Britannia are awesome. Eyebrows
Gaul made me laugh out loud. I don't know if you've ever read Asterix, but if you have, you'll know what I mean.
Scandia/Scandinavia (sorry couldn't read it that well) would be great to have in the series as the parent of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
Aestii (sorry I couldn't read that name either) is like an ancient Baltic region/nation, right? Mother of Latvia, Lithuania, and Prussia (because of Gilbird), right? You seem like the kind of person who would know that Prussia was originally Baltic. Germania seems so much more like Germany and Holy Roman Empire in personality, so this supports my belief that Gilbert was adopted.
Germania and Rome are cannon, but you're awesome at drawing them.
I don't know if you've made Magyar or not, but you should. Hungary, Finland, and Estonia's mom.
I don't know if you were just going for the Roman time period, but you should have made the Golden Horde/Ancient Mongolia have his head sticking out from the east.
Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, and Carthage have been mentioned in the series, but not designed. I think that your designs for them should be made official.

So sorry to intrude on your well thought out comment, but I wanted to correct a few of your mistakes.
First is that the Balti (or Baltics) were actually a Germanic tribe, so it's more like Aesti/Aestii is the daughter of Germania, and so Prussia is still related to Germania, without being adopted.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed your comment, and it's kind of funny how I thought around the same lines.

Oh, I was coming at it from a linguistic standpoint. The Baltic languages (Lithuanian, Latvian, Old Prussian) are a branch of the Indo-European language family. These languages are closer to Slavic than Germanic. If Hetalia made "families" based on the tribes or peoples, all of Europe except for Estonia, Finland, and Hungary, would be related. It seems to me that the families are based more on linguistic similarity. That's just how I see it. Thank you.

Oh, now I see where you're coming from. I completely understand how hard it is to classify the Hetalia characters into families. I was trying to do it myself, and it gets really confusing at times, because like you pointed out, classifying them linguistically and classifying them culturally are entirely different things.
