I wanted to render this a bit more, but work is taking all my time- So I decided to post it anyway.SPOILERS!!11!!?? ( but it's been more than a year since game's release!!)
Don't know what to think of Demise, the lack of backstory and origin other than: I'm a bad guy, deal with it gwahahaha! and his relationship with Ganondorf is what takes me off...
Maybe if they had explained more the conflict between Hylia and him and the previous war in SS, but meh. It kinds of destroy everything they've built up with Ganondorf so far. And that lead to a bigger problem with it, IMO Ocarina of Time should' ve been first in the series, for various reasons (and good ones I think) I should explain later.
I know Mangas are not canon, but the manga that comes with Hyrule Historia should've been included as a cinematic, or flashback or something. It almost makes sense after reading it.
Still, it is pretty badass, cool design, first time I saw him I was like: oh, sh"t! ,so I tried to capture that in this quick painting.
I was going to paint the battle second phase with the lightning and stuff, but I decided I wanted to use warm colors for this one.

I'm fairly certain Demise is an early form of Ganondorf. I actually think I read that in Hyrule Historia. But yeah, his design was awesome and it was a stunner first time he came on screen. Nice work!

i always saw ganon as the reincarnation of this guy. cuz of the way demise cursed the world in the end. that to me is why theyre all never endingly reincarnated. it made sense to me based on what i know from the other games

This is really epic! I think if they put your background into the game, it would've made everything more dramatic and really give that "oh crap I need to win this" feeling.

I think you captured that badass quality perfectly! You even got those darned scales that are from (his other form as) the Imprisoned all up and down his arms!
I'm actually glad you didn't paint the lightning scene -- too many painful memories there! LOL! My timing was -always- off, and I've only managed to actually beat him once: at the tail end of my hearts after all of my fairies were gone! How pitiful is that??
Besides, the warm colors, the storm clouds, they're absolutely perfect and (I think) capture some of the essence of a warlord about him that was alluded to in Skyward Sword but never really, actually shown. -Awesome- work on the light, shadow, and the use of texture throughout!!!

I have no words to describe how I feel abut this
I think they left it a mystery intentionaly, to make a new game in the future that deals with that time period. Think about it, Zelda mentions a legendary hero once or twice, and Nintendo said that Skyward Sword isn't the 'FIRST' game, because that would mean that there wouldn't be room for a prequal (which I'm sure they plan to do) So, it's only a matter of time.

Yeah, with the everchanging story of the Zelda series, it wouldn't surprise me if they release a game set before the events of Skyward Sword, and personally I find it hard to consider it the very first one because there are a lot of plotholes. (Even by Zelda standars lol)

Just pure killer! My words fail to capture how awestruck and envious I am of your skills! Demise was a villain I never knew what to think of either. He's pretty much there for plot reasons, I guess, and so that the game could have a more drammatic finale. (It also tied up Ghirahim's purpose nicely, methinks, but ah well.) A very push-over-ish boss, but you made him look so cool here! Seriously, man, the meticulous attention to the lighting gives the picture a stunningly impacting and realistic feel. I wish I could possibly express with words how incredible of a job you did on this picture, so instead of sitting here trying to devise the right thing to say, I'll do what any good person should do and give you a nice, hearty favorite.

Oh but SkywardSword's Link is right handed, didn't like they changed it, but I think it doesn't really matter anymore, at least if they continue to use motion/sword controls or until they actually add a left handed option...

I agree that ocarina of time would've been good as the first of the series; I always saw it as such. I dont' agree with all the timeline they've come up with anyway; I feel that they dont' all fit into the same story, such as the minish cap and four sword ones don't match up with ocarina of time/twilight princess/wind waker. I prefer the 'legend' theory, that some of the games are just the same original story/legend that has been altered greatly over the passing of time.
