Finally! it's finished! My official poster for my second fanfiction that's still in the making. [link]
This was my first time drawing Jack and Maddie and I was able to explore a lot of new techniques with the GIMP software I used. This one certainly has a more eerie feeling to it when compared to the first one I did, if you ask me.
I admit I kind of cheated with using some of the same drawings I did with the first poster, only tweaking them just a bit to fit better.
Speaking of fitting better: those of you who have read both of my stories, yes. Dani SHOULD be wearing her white and silver outfit I had given her by the end of the first fic. I would have used it too, but while I was working on this, she just stood out way too much when in contrast to the overall darker feeling of the whole thing. It looked terrible in her lighter outfit. I got a few outside opinions of that as well. So even though it's not accurate to the story I have written, in art there are some sacrifices that must be made in order to make the work look the best it can.
So on that regard, I decided to have her wear her black and white outfit. However, she does still have her yellow plasma rays. If you look closely, you can kind of see the yellow mixing with Danny's green energy as they're making the ecto sphere behind thier backs together.
Oh. And I don't know if you realised this, but if you look closely at the bottom, you can see Clockwork's eyes looking out at you from the darkness. Very dimly, but still visable in the right light.

OMG I LOVE THIS! I've been reading your stories since forever, and I love the animations you do. What software do you use for these arts?

After drawing them out by hand on paper, I put on the dark outlines and color with GIMP. Β It's like Photoshop, only it's free. Β It's also what I used for the individual frames for the animations before taking all the frames and putting them all in Windows Movie Maker to render into a video file.

Man, it's a bummer that you had to put the watermark on it. I still remember when you didn't have it there. It's still amazing, but . . . well, I guess watermarks just bug me a little. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why you put it there, it just stinks is all. Anywho . . . (^^') I had it as my desktop backround at school a few years ago. XD There's no chance that you could possibly send me a version without the watermark to use as my backround now, is there?

I think that would involve me giving you information I'd rather not just send out to whoever asks for it. I suppose I could also just take off the watermark for long enough for you to download it then, but who knows who else would take advantage of that.
If you really want it that bad, maybe we could work something out though.
You'd just have to give me your word of honor that you won't claim it as your own when someone asks who the maker is, copy over it as something else, or share it with anyone who would do that kind of thing. I have enough problems with that as it is.

I have a question. You wrote in your Return of Dani Phantom story (I think), that Danielle had her Plasma Rocket? Well, just how fast can she fly? Obviously faster than Danny...but is it fast enough to break the sound barrier?

You know, I don't think I ever specified even in my own mind. I probably should. I do mention briefly that she's able to launch herself into space with the plasma rocket though. How fast does a rocket need to be going to get itself into the Earth's orbit? for that matter, how fast can Flash run? That's how fast I always imagine her going.

Even if you thought the silver and white outfit looked horrible in this fanfic poster, I thought, "if she had put her DP logo on Dani's belt, instead of her chest, it would be great." Because something doesn't look right, doesn't mean you have to change everything back to the way it used to be. You put her yellow plasma ray in there with Danny's green ray, so I don't think it would hurt to put her logo on her belt.
It would look cool. At least, in my opinion.

Yeah, maybe. But then people would start making comments about the placement of the logo on the wrong colored suite. Some people can get really technical like that. (sigh) You just can never satisfy everyone.

Other than the costume being outdated on Danielle, this is extremely well done. Didn't even notice the crown of fire in the background the first few times looking at it. Love the use of Clockwork's eyes for effect. Too cool.

My fav picture of Danny, I LOVE how he looks, he's taller, so you can tell he's older, and the pose and expressions are AMAZING! I love the fanfic as well, I've read it at least twice

They left us some tidbits we could make some assumptions by, which is where all the fanfics come from, but people tend to want more solid information than that rather than just a theory. I DO hope to do some animations to my fanfics soon. It's not the same as actually seeing it on television, but I guess it's a start.

Cool poster! You captured Butch Hartman's style very well.
I especially love how older Dani looks in her outfit. If I were a teen vigilante, I'd want a costume like that in shape if not color.
The title font is cool-looking too, though I think the green letters might look better if they were a bit brighter than the green "flames" in the middle of the picture to provide more contrast.
Anyway, nicely done! ^_0

Maybe you're right about the letters. I was trying to simulate a fading smoke feeling though and making them brighter would take away the center of attention from where the Phantoms' are. I really am very glad to hear that you like this though. ^_^ I worked hard on it.

I do admire Mr. Hartman's work. I'd love to learn from him someday. I admit that sometimes I daydream that we could team up to get Danny Phantom back on the air and replace some of those dumb and quite crude shows they throw on TV nowadays.
