Description
This is more a concept than a finished painting. I drew it when travelling by train, and painted it very quickly when I was at home. I like how it turn out and it is still one of my favoriet concepts. One day I might use it to turn it in a real painting.I don't have the original sketch anymore. I lost it when I forgot my bag in the train and my watercolor sketchbook was in it.

I like the attention that you draw to the sword hilt and a smooth arc of composition flow. The attention is on the lines, not on the color. Even though the sword is placed against her movement, it plays perfectly along with overall picture, softens movement. Colors are subtle. Very feminine! Good job

Je weet misschien nog hoe enthousiast ik over dit werk was. Nog steeds: Ik vind het echt één van je prachtigste werken. Hieruit blijkt ook dat durf loont, aangezien ik me meen te herinneren dat je het moeilijker vond om met donkere kleuren te schilderen. Maar je bent echt geniaal met aquarel, en met compositie. Hier kan ik niet uitgekeken op raken, van het zwaard, tot de vleugels, de jurk, het hà à r, de tattoeage, haar handen... En elke keer kijk je terug naar het gezicht, en de blik in haar ogen. Wat zou ze denken?
De kleuren zijn ook één geheel. Zelf heb ik het soms moeilijk om bijvoorbeeld huidtinten aan te passen aan het omgevingslicht, maar jij hebt dat hier zo mooi voor elkaar gekregen. Zeker aangezien je vooral met lichtere tinten werkte.
(En ik herken de pijn van een vergeten schetsboek... Verschrikkelijk, zeker als je er werk in hebt staan waar je zo blij mee was.)

Okay, I just commented on that fire elf -picture, saying it is beautiful (and I'm not taking it back, 'cause it's true), but this is wonderful! Love the hair, the face, the eyes, the ears, tattoos, wings, sword... and THE HANDS! Those hands are b e a u t i f u l... i'm awfully jealous, u know (i can't draw hands at all, when I force myself to draw something else than wolves).

Thanks! That a great compliment. I think you got everything I tried to put in the picture. And hands...they are very expressive and you can put so much in it. Hands are not easy to draw, but I just love drawing them.

Thanks! That's a very great compliment. Darker colours are a problem for me because I'm very careful when I paint, and darker colours are not as easy to correct as the lighter ones. That's indeed scaring me a bit. But I hope to make more paintings like this in the future instead of my usually sweet and lighter ones.
As to being Raafified (love the word you invented), we really must make a appointment this summer vacation. You are a great model and I would love to draw and sketch you again.

Thanks! I hope the one who found it still enjoys my sketchbook, but it still hurts and I was stupid enough not to put my adress in it... Never made that mistake again.
