Description
This some art for who wanted to see me do a Genderbent Steve and Claire. Her own designs greatly helped to make these possible.I hope you like it!
I was referring to Animegirls designs when I did this picture, one of Claire and Steve [link] and just Steve [link]
I was wondering what to do with GB Steve, (Stephanie?) Animegirl gave her the name Stella. But since he spends so much time trying to be Claire's knight in shining armour. I think the GB version would be kinda Tomboyish and instead spend alot of time proving that she doesn't need to depend on Clark all the time.
My first designs featured very Scott Pilgrim influenced clothing and pigtails, to help with that Tomboy influence. But in the scene in the carrier plane Clark suggests she has her hair down. She does and after that, there's a relaxing of tension and this relationship finally starts to work... up until the point where Steph dies that is...

Thanks. I've got some more of Steve and Claire. I'll think I'll post them when I've got pics of Alfred and Alexia as well.

Nice, although I think Code Veronica Clark would be more unkept and with beard (or a shadow), as he was captured and held prisoner for some time.
My version of Stephanie is more punk, and tries too hard to be tough, and I agree she would not accept Clark's help at first.

I think animegirrl wanted me to draw a more clean shaven less scary version of Clark. So this picture veers more towards anime cuteness.
I'd probably make Stephanie look more punkish if I did more pictures of her. I sort of hit a brick wall with her at first, and was wondering whether to make her more like Ashley.

I have sketched Stephanie, I should finish it one of these days.
I think Steve tries to be tough, and in the female version that would just be amplified, since she'd be underestimated more.
I think she'd be kinda petite and cute, but do her best not to act tough.
Although, it might be a possibility she'd do the opposite and try to make people underestimate her to survive, and perhaps try to get the guards to protect her.

I think she'd try fooling the guards into thinking she's a bit helpless. That's a nice idea.
In the face of clark she's gonna try to look as tough as possible.
When I first started trying to genderbend Steve I was thinking about the idea of switching Steve and Ashleys personalities. They both have to saved by the protagonist at some point...

Ashley and Steve have different backgrounds, though.
I don't think we get to know whether Steve was instructed in combat, but he seems to be able to handle weapons.
Ashley on the other hand had lived more peaceful life, being a college student and never even tries to use a gun.
Although, we don't know anything about the personality of Ashley's dad.
It's possible he would have put his son in military school or something. Or not. Most likely he would have wanted him to follow in his footsteps, so college as well like in Ashley's case.
It might be interesting to GB the president as well (although we never see him or know much about him) as the first female president of US might have more pressure on her.
Ashley does run off at one point, (directly into a trap), so she has that streak in her as well.
It might be interesting to make Ash someone who knows the theory of combat, but has never been in any real combat situations or danger. Leona might have to deal with him getting in the way or over-estimating his abilities. He would give her orders and have strong opinions on what they should do.

I agree with that. I think GB Ashley should be an annoying twit who thinks he knows what he's doing but doesn't. A bit up himself, and overreacts like a drama student.
Of course he has to be as much of an annoyance as the original was to Leon.

I think he should be kinda insecure as well, and try to mask it with giving orders etc.
He would be still just 20, and put into a scary situation, so I'm willing to be understanding.
I never hated Ashley. She isn't one of my favourite characters, but she always stroke me as normal person stuck in a scary situation, so I felt sympathy towards her more than anything.
Plus I didn't have really any problems with her getting in the way, and I actually liked those parts where you had to cover for her while she was turning a crank or something.
Plus she would get kidnapped often enough and you could always hide her in a dumpster or leave her behind.

I can't really hate Ashley having never played RE4 but there's such a stereotype about her character it'd be alot of fun to play about with.

I think that stereotype is undeserved.
She is useless, true, but most people would be in that situation, and I think she handles it all very bravely.
It would be nice to have a character-arc for the male Ash.
At first he seems bratty and annoying.
Then he gets taken down a notch by making a mistake and getting kidnapped or something.
And finally it becomes clear he is scared and thinks he has to, because of his mom/dad, be the best and not be allowed to fail etc.
And in the end he and Leona gain new respect for each other.

I think that would be a very nice arc. I like seeing character development in games and stories so I think that's probably the best way to handle Ash's character.

I wonder how it would be gameplay-wise?
Would he be like Sheva in RE5 with AI that could fight in some scenarios, in some disarmed by Leona and protected by her, at times he'd be kidnapped or run away (although that should happen like just once, maybe he'd go and sneak away to fight some boss and be rescued by Leona)
