Description
This is a picture of the mythological Lucifer, the Devil, the Fallen Angel, the God of Darkness... I have for a long time wanted to draw a picture of him, representative for the way I view him. So finally after some while sketching on paper, I came up with an image of how I think Lucifer is... and I've spent some time coloring him in Photoshop. And I'm really happy about the way he turned out, far better than any previous pictures that I've done trying to represent him.Related content

I'm writing a book about angels and demons warring on earth by converting humans to their side and turning them into magi, this looks quite a bit like my protagonist's "awakened" form.

Are we talking Carl Orff?
"Burning inside with violent anger!"
Such beautiful words, and rather fitting, no?

Thank you
And that would be Venus, no offence. Lucifer is the latinized name used for the mythical angel that rebeled against the x-tian/hebrew god; God, Jehova, Jahve. Other names for the fallen angel have been Belzebub, Mephisto, Satan, Belial and Samael.
The name roughly means "Bringer of Light" in Latin.
I should also mention that in modern Satanic Theism, Theistic and Gnostic Luciferianists worship Lucifer, and see him as the Bringer of the Black Flame of Enlightenment, and they consider him as the patron of Wisdom, Power and Enlightenment, and the true Adversary of the poison of religion. Ironically enough, hah.
Don't worry, I know that Lucifer isn't evil. But he's more or less accepted as the God of Darkness throughout various medias, and that's what that picture aimed for.
Anywho, thanks for your comment

Yes, and where exactly in my picture did you get the impression this was the Roman god?
This was a picture, a tribute if you want, an attempt to draw Lucifer, the FALLEN ANGEL, and the Bringer of the Black Flame, not the Roman god - as I pictured one of his forms to be like.

Gabriel - a fallen angel? In which religious direction is he considered a fallen angel?
I gotta say, I've never heard of Gabriel as a fallen angel. As far as my knowledge goes, he's one of the arch angels along with Michael (Who is like unto God?) Gabriel (Might of God) Raphael (God's Healing) Uriel (Fire of God or Light of God) Phanuel (Face of God) Sariel (Command of God) Simiel (Proclaimer of God)... and in Orthodox Xtianity - four more are mentioned; Sealtiel (Intercessor of God) Jegudiel (Glorifier of God) Barachiel (Blessing of God) Jeremiel (God's exaltation) and so on and so forth XP Sorry for rambling on like that I'm not a religious nut, just a information nut hahahahah^^ And I don't like regular angels... I like'em Fallen
So what's your idea of this Fallen Angel Gabriel like? Just curious^^

I'm not religious either it's just my look on gabriel and I just have the opinion of him fallen is because somewhere in a article I forget where but it said that he would be the one to help lucifer's son get onto earth and that he would fail by lucifer stopping him before Gabriel can do his job than Lucifer takes him as one of his own.

Hmm, sounds neat. That sounds awfully like the plot twist of the movie Constantine^^ If that's where you've got it from, then I can see why you would consider Gabriel as a fallen angel. He does in many ways fall in that movie^^ Though it should be mentioned that in the Constantine movie-verse, Gabriel is the name used on a half-breed, so he's not fully angelic^^ And rather than being taken in by Lucifer, he falls completely, has his wings burnt off and is made fully into a mortal.
I had actually forgotten all about Gabriel in that movie... the funny thing is that the actress that played Gabriel, would of made a pretty kick ass Lucifer, if you ask me.
If you haven't checked it out, that's a movie I recommend watching, just for the sake of seeing Tilda Swinton as Gabriel, and Peter Stormare as Lucifer^^

You read about it in your town library? Do you remember what book it was that you read this from? There's a whole lot of gnostic texts out there, it is possible that what you've read has been written by gnostic believers. Gnostic beliefs tend to differ a lot from the world religions by a whole lot...
[link] Here's a link to it... hope that will answer some of your questions, as for where you can find it...
You can probably try to look for it on some of the torrent sites, or there's also sites out there where you can stream the movie for free. That's definitely recommended.
Just google Stream Constantine, and you should get lots of good results. Since it's from 2005, chances are you will find pretty good versions of it up too
Hope that helps

ya i read it a few years ago. and it could of been because he kept talking about beliefs and what other people thought about it, its more than likely he was an gnostic believer. My bad on the research i thought it was real, I didn't know about gnostic beliefs and the real religion. And thanks for the link. Also, again thanks for the google stream on Constantine.

It's not a typical gnostic belief regarding arch angels as fallen angels. Though there used to be/are various sects that have their own beliefs. Gabriel along with Ariel are some of several angels that are often considered more... should we say indifferent to humankind. Whereas Michael, Raphael, Uriel in such scriptures were considered stoic guardians of rituals.
According to some occult traditions, I know that Gabriel and Ariel are often considered desired summons for whatever rituals - though we're talking independent interpretations.
Hey, no problemo - hope you enjoyed the movie^^

well what you just said in summarization, made alot more sense than the guy who wrote the book on gabriel, and tell me more about these occult traditions
well I found the movie and it wasn't all that bad, but a few people told me that their was another ending? and that they liked that one more?

Well, everybody can write a book, yet have no real clue what they're really writing about. I've noticed that when it comes to several authors within the occult - people take from second and third hand sources, mixes things up, and they confuse their readers in the process!
Sure, is there anything in particular that you wanna know about? Occult traditions and specifically ones that also target gnosis - a sense of enlightenment or spiritual knowledge attained through either contact with spirits, saints, angels and demons - are as varied in nature as the "proper" religions are.
Another ending for the Constantine movie? Well, the only one I can think of is after the credits, where Chas is seen rising up to heaven as a newborn angel for the sacrifice he made. Probably as to suggest his taking over for Gabriel in that universe... who knows! Don't know if that's the ending people were talking about, but it's usually referred to as the second ending.

ya ya i see your point, I also noticed that reading books also it's dumb how people can mix up shit and your absolutely right it does mess with the readers
can I learn more about the REAL gabriel? that would be nice to know
and ya my friends told me the same thing, about some kid who died 15 minutes or so in the movie rising out of his grave as in angel and flys into heaven. I also like your idea as the new gabriel that would be very interesting to learn about. You know? like how would he do things. Like if he would do the same things as Gabriel or do things the way he would do it? I like the thought of that

Well, it is frustrating! People will take from several sources, they will add their own ideas, and mix shit up completely, and for someone who's into whatever field, not having proper field material can be more than frustrating.
You can learn more about the REAL Gabriel! I'll hook you up with some great links, cause if I start writing myself, you will have a fricking book to read

There's something to get ya started But yeah, basically he's the Messenger!
Well, that would be Chas Kramer, I think, and he dies quite close to the end, after he and Constantine battles Mammon - Chas is suddenly thrown around by a mysterious force - this turns out to be Gabriel as you know, who is then made mortal at the end of the movie by Lucifer.
I think that if Chas is given the same role as Gabriel had in the first movie, I think he will be much different in his choices. He is more pure hearted, and was in many ways a willing sacrifice. Gabriel loathed humans - not to different from what it's said that Lucifer does. Lucifer on the other hand, refused to bow down to humans, whereas Gabriel loathes humans because they are the only creatures given the chance of forgiveness if only they ask god for that forgiveness - they will be washed free of sin, and Gabe feels that humans are wasting this gift. But yeah, it'll be interesting to see what Chas will do if there's ever made another movie

Good, books are a great source of information. One of your best bets however, is if you have a great library nearby with special sections on spirituality, belief, but also occultism!
Yep, we'll see how they consider the sequel - the Hellblazer universe, in which Constantine is based upon; the comic, or should I say graphical novel feature quite many different pantheons in which John Constantine encounters. So they might follow up detailing events or confrontations with other mighty gods or entities as well! Who knows!?

Ahh no, there's not a sequel out there yet - but, there's been a sequel planned ever since the release of the first Constantine movie - the problem is that they can't decide on a proper story that they think will also appeal to the masses.
