This is very good although was this hard or easy to do since porygon has all those edges and whatnot?

RacieB In reply to Venicetehmink [2012-11-07 22:50:34 +0000 UTC]

The actual folding was easy since the pieces are all large and simple. The hard part was closing pieces up, and attaching parts to each other - the head/body/tail/feet are all separate from one another and can be attached however you want after it's all built, I wanted to try one with rivets so it could turn but couldn't find the type I wanted.

how does it stand? if its paper i thought i would fall?

RacieB In reply to amtrakman [2012-08-17 16:29:31 +0000 UTC]

It's stiff cardstock - though, I could have used thicker paper for a better effect. It's a few years old at this point and a bit worse for wear.

is there another way to get porygon in real life besides papercraft?

suppernova In reply to amtrakman [2012-08-18 17:55:41 +0000 UTC]

I suppose you could craft it in a bit larger and from a more durable material. Add some USB, button and fan openings and recolor it and you got your very own Porygon PC shell.
The tail could be a directional antenna, just a thought of mine. I regret Im too clumsy and dont know enough about building computers to do this myself actually.

Very nice. Porygon is one of my favorite Pokemon, and I had so much fun making this papercraft. Can you make one with happy, upside-down-U-shaped eyes? That would be super adorable!!

This seems strangely inevitable somehow. XD
Great job with getting the seams flat; that seems (no pun intended) like it'd be difficult to do.

RacieB In reply to SougonNaTakumi [2011-05-12 03:53:37 +0000 UTC]

I really wanted to make it lifesized but then it'd mess up the smoothness XF

doinktonberry [2011-01-30 08:45:45 +0000 UTC]

That can't be paper. It looks like it popped out of stadium 1. Impressive

Stadium 2 actually but they used the same models anyway I just made it foldable (wanted to make it lifesized too but couldn't print the polygons on single sheets of paper without having to chop them up...)

Yaaay~ I downloaded ur shiny one! I CAN'T wait to try it out...just have to wait to print it:3 I made an adorable chibi Vaporeon...my first paper craft (that wasn't origami) was a Mew

RacieB In reply to AoArchangel [2009-11-24 03:30:24 +0000 UTC]

I've been wanting to make the shiny one on thickish cardstock, and attach doll joints to the head and tail and stuff so that they can move around, but I haven't been able to find the right size joints to try it out XP

AoArchangel In reply to RacieB [2009-11-24 04:16:45 +0000 UTC]

Ok. [link] ..what now?
Do I have to print the template or what..?
I never did anything like papercraft and I really want a Porygon

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RacieB In reply to Deborah-Morgan [2009-07-12 16:47:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, print it out on thickish paper like cardstock if you can, otherwise it'll be flimsy. I can't really give advice on building that particular model though as that's PMF's version of Porygon and it's folded differently than mine.

Not to worry, I always print my papercrafts at FedEx/Kinkos because they have super awesome laser printers yesssss

Just save your papercraft PDF on a disk or pendrive or cd or something, and bring it to a copy shop and they can do that.

Ah ok thanks
-Still, I don't think we have copy shops here in Italy

Porygon-For-Life [2009-06-29 16:43:31 +0000 UTC]

do you HAVE to download it?
can't you just make a how-to deiviation?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RacieB In reply to Porygon-For-Life [2009-06-29 21:08:55 +0000 UTC]

Which part do you mean? To make it you have to download the PDF and/or the PDO. If you download the PDO, Pepakura Viewer is required. You can print from either of them, but if you use the PDO you can turn the model around in 3D and see more easily how it's put together.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by a how-to. If it's step-by-step instructions on making it that you want, I'm not going to do that because A) I didn't bother taking pictures or making notes while I was putting it together, and B) If you're already familiar with the basics of papercrafting, it's a fairly easy model.
