The legend of the harp tree...When I found this harp-shaped tree in a secluded part of the forest I noticed that the rest of the trees seemed to be leaning in towards it ...as if they were listening intently to its music.

A magical part of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) region of the Naturpark Saar-HunsrΓΌck in the south west of Germany.

Feel the music of Nature's right
On and on straight through the night
Trees listen to their tune
Plant's song won't end soon
No O-no,it never will
Earth's children stand still
Yes, I say, I say. This is a wonderful thing for me to see today!

What an odd-looking tree Good name for it though, and until I read the comment I had no idea that the other trees were leaning towards it

Every time I see this, I like to imagine faeries playing it at night to lure humans out from their walks in the woods. I'm a freak like that ^^

That's just beautiful... I play the harp, so this kind of looks familiar. xD Someone plays, and the others lean in to hear better.

May I use this image in a drawing? I wouldn't be using your exact image, but as a source.

love the different shape and you're absolutely right, that is undeniably a harp tree. since you're obviously a lover of oddly shaped trees, I have a picture of a real square one you might be interested in seeing
and no, this isn't a sham to get you to look at my page, I REALLY DO have a picture of a square tree. I took a pic of it when I went to the Grand Canyon this summer

So the harp tree fell over, leaving a space in the canopy, that the other trees, and NEW leader shoots from the base, filled.
Because the initial tree fell over, it bent, and grew up, toward the sun, to get back to where it had been.
What do you think?
Sound plausible?

I noticed you did this with a sigma lens. Im thinking of buying one but Im unsure. Is it worth it?

The 10-20 DX is a great lens - very sharp, well saturated with negligible distortion and is well built - so for me it's excellent value for money.

Yeah the Nikon equivalent is a little out of my price range with $1500 or so. I was hoping you would say it was a good lens cause Im looking for an affordable alternative to the Nikon

Fantastic, I really like the green tones and the way that they do not alter the colour of the tree trunk.
