The shading and conformation here is absolutely wonderful.
To me, this really captures the essence of the breed, especially with the excellent pose and muscle detail.

Wonderful drawing, I envy your shading/sketching skills.
I won't comment on what I think of the conformation. We all have our different ideals, but yes, for what he is, this is a beautiful horse.

thanks hun^^
*gigglesnort* yeah, i've always been partial to the longer arabians than the more compact ones though i must admit he's a tad extreme

.... well you said it not me. He's stunning none the less. And who cares- we have artistic license!
any particular reason why you like long backs? They make me a little uneasy.

some of the best arabians i've ridden were more tubular built (Camaareyno, and his sister, Thunder Rose, whom i'm purchasing). they've had a greater ability to do...weird things, lol. Camaareyno being the best example (sans his father, EI George Fraser who sadly i never met), he takes care do trot, canter, etc. with a little somethin extra, whether it be to bend only his mid-section or to curve in some weird way. it's kind of hard to explain, since this covers more than just long backs. long back, long legs, neck, atheletic build, and the brainpower to push the limits of the way their built.
so i guess the horses i want to breed for go beyond just a static picture^^

well, some dressage horses are better with a longer back just as long as they have enough drive from behind so they get a longer stride from the hocks. You're right in saying that a longer back allows for more bend around the inside leg. The most important thing is the strength of the back. anyway the weakest part is actually the loin, so you can have a longer back if you have a short compact loin.
well...if i sound long winded, sorry, i was at arabian nationals for horse judging

I love that you really do your research.
D: does he do the arabian teleportation? I've had that done to me a few times (given they were...slightly green)
