Description Again another "as close as I can get with that program" avatar of Hawk Halfmoon, the Wolven Beastkin. His weapon isn't right of course since he uses a very specialized halberd-like weapon but halberd was close enough for the purposes of this. Outfit is somewhat right and his eyes actually, one is blue and the other a earth brown. His feet don't look right since they should be Digitigrade rather than the half-asses plantigrade it allowed me with the program but then it wasn't really meant for anthro characters and they seems to be a lack of male anthro avatar creators out there that don't suck horrendously.

How does he even carry the ax head when it's detached from the staff? I don't see a sheath or baldric for it.Β

It was created using a character avatar creation program to do the best I could do. His actual weapon is a bit more unique than that and splits in half so he can wield it a two weapons in each hand and attach them to his belt.

If I recall the undead scene right, it splits into a mace-like staff and an axe.

Yeah the one side is sort of like a battle axe and the other side is reinforced with bands of metal to also add a counter balance to the whole thing when it's combined and functions like a basic mace when split. The weapon is kind of supposed to reflect the dual nature of his magic being water and earth.

I want some concept art for the specialized halberd; I'm going to try drawing it and I don't want to screw it up.

Never really drew much in the way of concept art for it. Did a sketch at one point in time but it wasn't anything amazing. Maybe I'll sit down some time this week and do a more detailed sketch.

Β I need to see that concept art ASAP. Also, it would be nice to know the story isn't stillborn.

I'm working on it. Just finally scanned the sketch and been using paintshop to clean it up and try to make it more uniform in dimensions so it doesn't look so wonky. Might finish it up tomorrow.

By the way, I figure his voice would sound somewhat likeΒ this , only less muffled and filtered.

Maybe a little. He's got sort of one of those gruff voices with a bit of a growl to it. Like something a grizzled old mountain man might talk in.

Don't tell me he sounds like the original Half Life marines! They didn't even sound human (except for some scripted conversations)! Β

Not sure... it's been a LONG time since I played Half-Life last.

That cape is going to be a liability in combat.

It depends on how you use it. Seen or read many a time where a cape has been used to shield someone from an attack by taking a blow instead of the wearer.

I've never heard of a cape shielding someone, but maybe it could happen, especially in a fantasy world. Anyway, I was more worried about it snagging on something. Here is the cause for my concern: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…
Regardless of the hazards, the choice to keep or remove the cape is yours and yours alone.

Well usually it was more the swashbuckler type of moves. Read in a lot of stories about a hero not being able to stop arrows coming at them or a spear so they snag it in their cloak to deflect the blow or tangle up the spear. It's really supposed to be more a cloak than a cape. You know those Tolkienesque stories always have adventurer's wandering about the world with nice thick cloaks to guard against the elements.

Okay, I've been wanting to say this for a year now, but have kept excusing it away. A wolf's winter fur is so insulating that snow doesn't even melt on it. Still, I suppose the cloak is just for aesthetics or traveling in cold environments without winter fur.

Also have to remember this is a fictional race of humanoid animal people, heh.

Maybe it's oilskin to keep the rain off him so he doesn't get wet?
