Description EDIT 3.02.08:// [ FAQ ]
Q: Where do you buy paper star strips?

A: You can for sure buy paper strips at any Korean stationery store. You can probably even buy online? If you really can't find them, however, you can make your own; 15 x 1 cm paper strips.

Q: Help! I'm stuck! I don't get this?
A: Basically you're trying to use up the whole entire strip of paper until it runs out. What you're basically doing is this: take a flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold it over. Take the other flap, fold that... Tuck them under whenever you can as shown in step 4. Good luck!

OMG HUGE FILE D:

I sort of made a mistake by making this tutorial with those paper strips -.-;; I've always used 15 x 1 cm paper strips to make paper stars but these new ones are like... 19 x 1 cm D: If you use 15 x 1 cm paper strips, you do NOT need to cut! It should be perfect and you should be able to use it all :> I didn't know this but the new paper strips I've bought are strips used for both paper stars and paper hearts x_x;; oi.

Not the best tutorial out there...
probably one of the worst, rofl.

I never take requests--ever! But this is the one time I've fallen for it D: Ohnoes! Dx

GOOD LUCK!

Look forward to ANOTHER tutorial soon!! <3<3
For what? D: It's a secret! >:[

Step 7 is where I started to realize I'm failing.
Was unable to do step 9 & 10 since (1) I didn't exactly follow directions in Step 1 and (2) I can't pinch. -_-

lmao.
This is pretty awesome though.
It was my first try... a bit more practice and then I'll be able to brag to my friends. tehe.

Thanks for putting it up!

I don't know why, but at about step 6-7 it turned was fine, and all I need was to pinch. Is this because I made it 1 x 15?

Great tutorial IMO! I made my first one just now. But while I was using the pliers, my teeny tiny star flew out of my hands and is now lost in my cluttered bedroom O.O I was so proud of it.

I have a question: is one side supposed to look like a plate? I can get one side puffy, but the other side always goes in, even with the weird tool.

Like a plate? D:

Not exactly what you mean but all sides should be puffing up

How do I puff it up? D8

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RainCookie In reply to hitsumaru-love [2010-12-01 02:02:24 +0000 UTC]

If you're having problems with puffing up the star (on whatever side), this is most likely because you folded it too tight or loose. It's extremely difficult to explain this without being next to you, but you get the hang of it after folding for a while

Since that still gives no help whatsoever...
sometimes when you're puffing up a side and it's starting to bend in without puffing, fold it back FLAT, then start on the opposite (or another) side and start puffing it. Sometimes this works and helps you puff up the star :)

seichan09 [2010-11-22 05:53:29 +0000 UTC]

great tutorial! but may i give a tip? you don't actually need to do all those steps (:
if u start at the beginning of the strip and when u knot hole it in the beginning, the strip
folded in shuld be short. then u can just fold in the big strip and once ur done, u just pinch
the sides. is that clear? sorry i suck at instructions D:

RainCookie In reply to seichan09 [2010-11-22 09:10:44 +0000 UTC]

Since then and now, that's how I fold stars now :)

But thanks!

When pinching the corners, they fold in on eachother. =/ Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I also had trouble with the 15 cm size-- doesn't have enough to tuck each end in enough times. Can you help? I'm trying to make my friend a gift.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RainCookie In reply to Hazel23 [2010-11-22 09:12:40 +0000 UTC]

This happens when you either fold too tightly or too loosely. If it's folded too tightly (meaning you pull the strip through too hard) it becomes too compact, making it fold inward without puffing up. If you fold loosely (meaning you don't pull the strip through hard enough) it becomes too messy and loose, making it fold inward or bent without puffing up. You'll just get the feel of it through trial and error :) It gets tons easier after some practice

i get confused when you say flip it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RainCookie In reply to Celzium [2010-11-07 18:58:59 +0000 UTC]

flip (adj): to cause to turn and especially to turn over

Flip it where the arrow is pointing, horizontally :O

They did increase the prices of paper strips over the year :/ so I dunno what to tell you. I think you might be able to find cheaper ones online in bulk :/
