Description
4e D&D; Players Handbook - Chapter 1Acrylics on board, approx 50cm x 40cm
© Wizards of the Coast. 4e Players handbook; Interior Illustration.
Original artwork SOLD
The adventurers cautiously explore amongst the ruins. One of them signals that they have found what looks like an underground entrance, but at that moment a sound in the wood startles not just the wildlife...
There is a lot to focus on in this piece. By facing the figures the same way, and by trying to create a flow of lines with the weaponry, I was aiming to pull the viewers eye across the page towards the entrance and wildlife. The low POV hopefully also adds to the tension of the scene.

damn! I wish I didn't miss the release of D&D 4ed! I wanted to buy a book just for the art >.<. Oh well, vacations to Japan are better than D&D

Great dynamic between the characters, great lighting, and action is awesome too.....
though I dont know about some of the characters, I have been in the history of DnD for a long time, but yeah, some of these don't seem like the right 'history'..... ANYWAY, you have done another amazing job!

Nice work, great attention to details and coloring, and the fact that it is a traditional media work amaze me.
My minor crit is since everything is treated with care and intense rendering, I have a hard time of finding the focal point, and I think you can reduce some of the details to pull the 3D dimensional space forward.

I agree that the values and colours could have been stronger to give it more depth.
Pleased you like it anyway - thanks

Beautiful work. I love the attention to detail- the carvings on the ruins hinting at a once great civilization. The knight character is especially badass.

Man, your art is so brilliant and exquisitely detailed! Is that Lidda I see in the corner? I can't imagine how long this took! How can you stay so focussed on a piece like this?

Certainly based on Lidda. Staying focussed is the key
