Chameleon 15" X 12"Chameleons are really cool, they are quirky little guys with strange little feet that grab onto branches. This design is a composite of 4 different pictures. I designed the overall pose of the critter, then went to the internet to make sure I get the details right. I liked the head in one picture, the tail in another, and the coloring from another. This piece won 2nd place at the California State Fair woodworking competition.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. My daughters got me to post my art on this website and told me about checking out the comments but they neglected to tell me I could reply.
So the Chameleon took a couple of days to finish. The hardest part of any of these designs is the original artwork that I transfer onto the wood. It has to look just right before I start cutting it out. So it took a day to cut out and shape and another to paint it. I let the paint dry overnight and then built in on the third day. I have several on the wood pieces that I really like and the Chameleon is toward the top of the list. Thank you for letting me know how much you enjoyed it.
