Description The group of spaceshipsharks got its name from the rows of glowing organs on their sides. Spaceshipsharks live in in packs that can be found in the deep-sea during the days, where they find together and communicatewith the help of these organs. During the night, they follow the swarms of photoplancton to the surface, where they hunt smaller animals using their long, spiked tongue. Sometimes a pack attacks big animals like the calmar whales, but this is rather rare. Their biggest enemy is the deep-sea tiger, a close relative, which is much bigger and hunts alone. Its glowing organs are smaller and pay mainly a role during mating to attract a partner.

Swimming at night, that is. Besides, any lifeΒ from Earth is inedible to them (and vice versa).

I draw the creature with a black aquarel pencil, then use a brush and a 50/50 mixture of water and saliva (don't laugh, it produces the best viscosity for this purpose) to smooth it, then add details and fixing of mistakes with a mechanical pencil. Then it gets scanned and colours are addedΒ digitally in "soft edges" mode.Β

What I love about your artwork is that while some of the forms are superficially similar to earth life, they're freakish to the max and little things mark them as alien. Plus there is a running theme with certain biological structures in your life, like the many eyes and the primitive nature of everything here. Everything has a very cambrian feel to it, very strange and mutant. I love it.

Thanks, the theme comes from the fact the creatures are related to each other, like on Earth.
