FULL VIEW FOR TUTORIAL
Finally, after countless requests, I made a full tutorial just on how I do eyes. It really is simple, after a few tries I think you should be able to do it (as long as you know how to insert layers, etc. in photoshop). If you have problems or questions with it, feel free to ask me

thanks that helped me get some ideas on how to do this but...i dont get how your supposed to make a layer under the lineart in step 5. I cant find any button that lets you do that. What kind of photoshop are you using maybe theres a diference.

Hey! This was a great tutorial!! And it's very easy to understand!! The only problem is that I don't have a photoshop yet!!! But I will get one!! One question, where did you get yours? Staples tend to have things higher in price than they actually are, and I was just hoping they got too high in the price when they said 699.99 and 899.95. That's a lie, right?

That's about how much Photoshop would cost.
There IS a cheaper lower-grade one called "Photoshop Elements" but.. It's not as good.
I have Photoshop 7, but I don't know where I got it from. My mom just had it lying around.
Anyway, that's about how much you're going to pay for one of the newer high-grade Photoshop programs.

Well, I've never tried PS Elements, but I heard it SUCKS compared to the true Photoshop.
It's pretty much (In my mind, what I'm imagining it to be) a suped-up version of MS Paint...
I don't know though.
I HAVE seen people do good stuff with it, but you know, it probally takes a LOT longer.
So what version do you have? Mine's 7.0, and well.. It's really good, and with me saying that, it means a lot, because I REALLY HATE doing digital art, but.. it kinda makes it bearable..
I wish you best of luck, and I know a good site with a bunch of anime/manga tutorials for Photoshop (Well, some that are for Painter and such, but you can kinda figure out how to do them in PS as well,)

Wow, I'm glad I didn't get it then. I tried coloring my stuff in MS Paint but nothing turned out right. ^^
I got CS2!! YAY!! I thought about getting an older version because I seen art done with it and in my opinion it looks better. Maybe the newer versions are made just to make your life easier!!

Layers aren't that hard once you get used to them, but of course, I had someone teach me to do that. (My mom uses Paint Shop Pro X, and she's a graphic artist, so... Yeah.

Yeah, I barely figured out that setting the layer to Multiply lets you do stuff rather than on Normal. So I go crazy with all of my layers on Multiply!!

I remember when I first came here on DA last July, I needed a TON of help. And.. Through some buttheads being mean about my stuff and the good friends helping me and telling me to keep going no matter what, I've gotten a LOT better.
I used to suck really bad.
But now I can actually be a little happy with what I draw.
I'm not totally happy, but I am happy.

But still, anime like Avatar (I don't know much about it, but from what I watched it was good. I just could never catch it on TV...) is made by Americans if I'm not mistaken, and a lot of people like it.
So maybe we'll still have a chance.
