2 weeks, 40 hours, 87 layers and 1 corruption later it is finally complete!Any of you remember this series? It has been at least 4 years since I last saw Reboot, and making this image has brought back many nostalgic memories and revived my fandom for it. When this series first premiered on YTV I thought the show looked pretty boring. Then my sisters and I sat down one rainy day and watched an episode. Well, I guess the rest is history from then on, eh?
“Daemon Rising” to say the least was to be considered the 4th season, until it transformed into a movie. The plot was interesting, the new characters were creative, but you would think after a 5 year gap between the 3rd season the animation might have been…better? And we were left hanging for who knows how many more years!! In my heart I would like to believe there is more, but in reality “Daemon Rising” was the true end to Reboot.
So as commemoration for all those years of laugher, tears and memories I made this smorgasbord of the main cast in anime cell style with a doujinshii type feel. It suggests that even if the series is done there is always room for us fans to pick up the pieces.

I think the thing that made Daemon a great character was that she was not deliberately evil-she was not a "Mwahaha I'm so evil!" type of villain. She felt that she was striving for a perfect kind of order, and thus no matter how horrible her actions were the ends justified the means. She believed she was striving for a perfect, harmonious order-but her idea of order was repression with no freedom or individuality. It made her a more complex and realistic character.

Love it. Nice job on Daemon who was yet another wonderfully creepy villain the show gave us, along with Megabyte and Hexadecimal. But just so you know, Daemon Rising wasn't the end of the series. There were a whole bunch of episodes after dealing with the whole "Two Bobs" scenario that Daemon Rising ended on. Won't spoil it in case anyone hasn't seen it but you can find the scripts on the web.

I remember Reboot. I'm just mad that they didn't finish the series. I really like the who composition of your picture. Everyone just looks a lot younger than in the show. And you made Bob prettier too. I think your AndrAIa is the best though.

I think your coloring and collage format are excellent! The juxtaposing of the characters are done well, although Daecon's face is a little hard to see. I'm going to assume that's Dot on the bottom left and AndrAIa along the top. Your strong anime style makes it abit hard for the cast to be recognized, but then again that's an expected feature of anime.
I really like it, however. The look of both Matrix and Bob are very appealing!

Looks great! I love the detail on AndrAIA's scales, Mouse's tatto and Daemon's hair. Good idea having a closup of Dot and Andraia in the corners. Matrix's pose rocks. Your picture does have a doujinshi look to it. Too bad there isn't much Reboot doujinshi out there

Thanks. I would like to attempt to illustrate a back story between the episodes "Game Over" and "Icons" if I had the time and the patience to see it to the end. I sketch up a few scenes here and there but I just can't make anything useful of them. Plus I can't make up good stories to go with them

Hmmm maybe it would help if you write the story or script then worry about the drawing. I would like to have a go at reboot doujinshi. Maybe you should just start off with one page and work your way from there. Don't give up! I would love to see your sketches so far

Yeah, that is quite good. One thing you avoided pretty well were tangency issues (where two objects *almost* overlap but don't, making it looking like they're bumping into each other; a SLIGHT tangency issue, for example would be how Daemon's spike at the top of her head is just barely touching where Matrix's arm is.
It's a bit buggy, but it still works since they're two different sizes and the placement of Dot's head makes it clear they're occupying different planes of space. Plus it wouldn't really be a problem since Matrix has a nice, dynamic pose that cuts through the page a bit.
Gotta love the sick, sick attention to detail too. @_@; The tattoo on Mouse's shoulder must've been fuuun to draw in. The little shimmers and highlights are catchy too. I keep thinking it would have been neat if you had bounced some eerie or unusual colored light off Dot and AndrAIa (to better suggest they're intently focused on something important just off the image page). And since they're the largest in the composition, you could have gone the EXTRA distance by reflecting something in each of their eye (e.g. Mainframe under attack).
If you still have all the layers intact, think about putting a white glow behind Daemon and having the glow extend like a beam upwards. It's just at thought- her pose just seems to fit that effect.
Otherwise, it's alllll time & effort well spent~! ^^
